Tensions between Israel and Lebanon have escalated as Israel has continued its strikes against Lebanon, despite international calls for a temporary ceasefire. The United States, France, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and other countries have jointly called for a 21-day truce, following discussions at the UN General Assembly. However, Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, have rejected these calls and have ordered the army to continue fighting the Hezbollah militant group with “full force.”
The possibility of an Israeli ground assault in Lebanon has sparked concerns among experts and officials. Heiko Wimmen, International Crisis Group’s Project Director for Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon, emphasized the potential consequences of further military escalation in the region. Journalist Karim El-Gawhary also weighed in on the situation, shedding light on the implications for Lebanon and its people.
Jennifer Moorehead, Save the Children’s Country Director for Lebanon, expressed concerns about the impact of renewed hostilities on the civilian population, particularly children. Meanwhile, Johann Wadephul, a member of the German parliament, highlighted the need for diplomatic efforts to prevent further violence in the region.
The situation remains tense as the Israeli army remains on alert for a possible assault in Lebanon. As the international community continues to push for a ceasefire, the future of the conflict remains uncertain, with potential implications for the broader Middle East region.

Not one single word about the hostages
PEACE BE WITH YOU!
JESUS
The demand of Izrael vs Hezbollah from the very start is very simple TO STOP FIRING ROCKETS AND MISSILES FROM LEBANON. The problem with Lebanon is that most 9f these Hezbollah terrorists and civilians supporting them is that they are Palestinians that migrate and was expelled from Israel.
the face of death while smelling a fart
The host is beating a dead horse. We already know the Lebanon Government is weak. The issue here is those with the power to bring a ceasefire — not continually hammering on a hopeless reality. Hezbollah is the one with the power to agree or not to a ceasefire. And they've made it plain. Stop the slaughter in Gaza and they will stop.
Why give terrorists a chance to strengthen itself, intent on unleashing more terror?
Israel has killed more civilians and foreign nationals than the so called terrorists groups. Really makes you think…
i stand with the truth
i stand with Israel
♥️
No ceasefire deal eye for an eye
After the unprofessional outburst of anger and emotion at Israel yesterday this is DW's, namely this presenters, attempt to show that he is not biased – sadly he wrote is own 'hard' hitting questions to ask…😵💫
Its almost like countries shouldn't allow terrorist groups to exist in their borders, allow them to hide and store weapons amongst civilians and allow them to attack other countries from within your borders.
Those ceasefire will enable Hezbollah to regroup & rearm. So Israel wants no ceasefire with Hezbollah.
It’s a bluff!!! Israel will not go in to Lebanon.
After he gave me the bread and meat that I thought, resembled a hamburger, we left that house, and traversed a straight and narrow path to the river. It was narrow. Tall grasses, and weeds to both sides. And yet, we traveled side-by-side. I could see the sandals of his feet, and the hem of his garment, and not much more.
UN should have been proactive to combat terrorism before things like this get to have a leg to start on. But no, leave them to set in and start this useless revolt at the expense of the poor civilians…then they will relocate where tolerated and do it again. The world is guilty for these deaths…not Israel.
This is crazy. That means Lebanon shouldn't be seen as a country but be seen as Hezbollah country since the Lebanese government have no say over the Hezbollah terrorist organization. This is crazy and unbelievable.
9:30 because the majority supports the terrorist group called Hezbullah.
The U.S. doesn't want a ceasefire. Biden and Netanyahu are playing a game and faking the whole business.
The terrorists enemies to negotiate with a sovereign country like Israel terrorists have the right to negotiate hogwash. Israel did not start the fire 🔥 Israel only adds to the fire 🔥 more fire 🔥 the government have the right to protect the people of Israel from terror.
Thanks Biden administration for the worldwide mess!
