The Dominican Republic has announced a controversial plan to expel 10,000 undocumented immigrants a week in an effort to reduce what the government spokesperson has described as an “excessive” migrant population. This decision has sparked concern among thousands of Haitians who have sought safety in the neighboring country and now face the prospect of returning to a homeland plagued by deadly gang violence.
The plan has been met with criticism from human rights groups, who argue that it is inhumane and goes against international refugee laws. They argue that many of these migrants are fleeing violence and poverty in Haiti and should be granted asylum, rather than being forcibly removed from the Dominican Republic.
This move comes amidst a broader crackdown on migration in the region, with other countries also tightening their borders in response to the ongoing refugee crisis. The situation highlights the complex challenges facing migrants in the Caribbean and the urgent need for a coordinated and compassionate response from governments in the region.

Men….. the problem is that Dominican Republic is a small country and there are like 3 million Haitians in the Dominican Republic
we don't want them here either
They have ruined the resorts by harassing tourists. Noone wants to return.
DR has a big crime problem with it's own people it needs to resolve as well. It's VERY unsafe.
Issues also with infrastructure, violent and reckless drivers with no consequences, and filth everywhere.
They need radical change like in El Salvador.
A banch of racists people. Disaster can strike anywhere and at any time. Today it's Haiti tomorrow it could be your country, always remember that.
Very interesting; I support it😂😂 🇯🇲
Haitians are a problem… just saying.
They're eating the dogs.
