In response to significant rebel gains after the fall of Aleppo, Russia carried out a series of air strikes in Syria on Sunday. The strikes targeted rebel-held areas where opposition forces had advanced following the capture of Aleppo.
The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that the airstrikes hit areas in the countryside of Aleppo and the neighboring province of Idlib. The strikes come as rebels, including Islamist groups, made progress in the region, seizing several towns from government forces.
The continued violence in Syria highlights the complex and fluid nature of the conflict, with different factions vying for control over territory. The fall of Aleppo in December was a significant blow to the Syrian government, and rebels have capitalized on their success by pushing further into opposition-held areas.
The intensification of Russian airstrikes in response to rebel advances underscores the ongoing struggle for power and control in Syria. The conflict has resulted in a humanitarian crisis, with millions of Syrians displaced and in desperate need of assistance.
As the fighting continues, the international community faces the challenge of finding a diplomatic solution to the conflict and addressing the humanitarian needs of the Syrian people. The situation in Syria remains volatile, with the outcome uncertain as various factions continue to vie for power and control.

Just because we are Muslims does not mean we are jihadists. We wish for peace and we love all the people of the world. We, the free Syrians, rose up against the dictatorial Syrian regime in order to achieve freedom and dignity. We only want to liberate our land from the Iranian, Russian and American occupation.
UN is terrorism organisation.🤭
Erdogan's army advancing along proven islamists and terrorists . Syrian province Idlib was quietly annexed by Turkey in violation of international law with quiet approval of NATO . West media on 2016: "Terrorist"

BBC mentioning civilian causality but did not distinguish it from children and women causality. Neither did it say civilians were not warned about airstrike.
The rebel factions that took over Aleppo do not accept other religions than Islam, a resident of the Druze city of Suwayda in southwestern Syria told Israeli state broadcaster KAN on Monday. "The factions that took over Aleppo destroyed Christmas trees that were set up for the holiday. They are murdering Kurds in the streets," he noted, adding, "Their slogans are 'Jihad' and 'Allahu Akbar.'"
While he noted that the "current regime is dictatorial," the citizen of Suwayda added, "It allows freedom of religion and does not interfere in that domain, whereas the Islamists do not accept other religions in Syria. This is fundamentally different."
"The Syrians did not sacrifice what they sacrificed just to move from bad to worse. That is the source of concern," he told KAN. "We want the situation in Syria to improve, not deteriorate further."
There are several forces fighting in Syria. The Turkish 'rebel' side, supported by Israel, Turkey and the U.S., includes two distinct groups. The former al-Qaeda Jihadists in Hayat Tarhir al-Sham [HTS] under Abu Muhammed al-Jolani were, and likely still are, financed and armed by the CIA through proxy actors in Qatar. HTS includes a significant number of Turkmen and Uighur jihadists from Central Asia. The second group is the so called Syrian National Army which is a group of Sunni Syria mercenaries paid for and controlled by Turkey.
These 'rebels' immediately distinguished themselves through their depraved behavior: A most gruesome footage of the so-called Erdogan-backed “freedom fighters,” beheading a Syrian soldier they captured. A POW in western military terms.
I thought those days of ISIS evilness were over, but here we are again as history repeats itself while we are again being told that these are the good “liberators.”
The footage shows a Syrian soldier surrounded by ‘rebels.’
He pleads with them & pleads to their Islamic faith.
They pull his hand away from his neck & one guy with a huge jaggered knife proceeds to slice his throat. When it gets stuck, he pounds the knife into the neck a few times, then proceeds to continue with the slaughter to the cries of “Allahahu Akbar.”
Whoever in the western world is supporting these extremists should really think again.
This corrupt BBC journalist needs 'independant' verification . Who is independant ?
