Hi Gabriel, mezcal also comes from the agave plant (all tequilas are mezcal but not all mezcal are tequilas). The process to produce mezcal is different basically because it is cooked underground while tequila is cooked in big pots, therefore mezcal’s flavor is more earthy. The oranges could be eaten after the drink of mezcal, the powder it had was probable worm salt. Great video as always.
Remember going to Mexico and my dad buying mezcal from people on the street with a horn shape flask. And I mezcal was back in the day was a poor man drink as well. But now it’s up there with tequila
What a great place, it all looks so interesting, I've never seen this part of Mexico.
Check out the fall of civilizations podcast about the Aztecs. It’s pretty good
What does mezcal taste like?
Mezcal is delicious 😋
That nice smell could be copal.
WOW!!! So cool!!! 😎 It's a good thing you had only one Mezcal before the "way too crowded" hike! 🥴 Reminds me of a "safer" Angels Landing in Zion.
My favorite place in Mexico
Love seeing the warmer climate 😊❤😎☀️😅🍷
Please slow down your panning.
People fall all the time thus the ambulencia.
Gab, greetings from San Antonio Texas, I was actually there but I when a day the entrance to the Pyramid was close, but I did managed only to reach halfway to the up the stairs, and yes the uber or taxi do not take you up, you have to walk the lon cobble stone street but its absolutely a magical experience, the town is so colorful I got a flash back of the movie called Coco the town is so charming and the people are too as well. I asked one of the locals why the Aztec build a pyramid on the top of a mountain, something to do with a child that was born and raised by the grandparents that had magical powers, the locals all believe in this but I didn't get the entire story line. See if you can get it. I will have to return back in April and attempted to complete it to the top for sure. I had a spiritual experience just doing the long steps to the entrance of the gate. I wonder if you experience anything.
Really colourful, fun video! Awe inspiring landscape after that climb! Mescal is wild. I drunk it once on the ferry to the Isle of Arran and fell off the ferry to the Isle of Arran while my mates fought each other, c1992. Also, Under the Volcano, a great book about an English consul in Mexico drowning himself in mescal.
I'm watching this entire video wondering if he knows that he has to pay an entrance fee at the summit. I went during the week, way less people. You should have tried pulque instead of mezcal. Tastes way better.
Love the energy of this place. That was funny to see your reaction to the Mezcal 😅
People at the top of the hike look delirious 😅
I love Mexico, and what I love about these videos is that I have been to many of these places. I drove a car around the Yucatan and visited Pyramids that were still being discovered, and most times I was the only one there ! Keep exploring Gabe, you have me wanting to return to Mexico !
I must say this is one of your best videos of the Mexican series. Just loved the hike to the temple, those landscapes were absolutely stunning! Definitely worth it. This town is so full of life. What a great atmosphere with more beautiful art, great music, what’s not to love. Thank you! Cheers.❤✨❤
Thanks Gabriel, wonderful adventure! Love to discover the ancient culture, and the stone sculptures are so perfect in measures. Very advance civilization.
Holy smokes, this place just gets more delightful!
Was there this past July during the rainy season, we got caught in a flood, the entire town got flooded, but itbwas gorgeous! We climbed up to the pyramid, the rocks were slippery and wet, lots of beautiful water streams pouring down the mountain, it was absolutely gorgeous! We got a healing from an amazing healer, too.
wild
Ugh, too many people.
Beautiful but thats a nope for me! I'd never make it 😮
MEZCAL IS BASICALLY TEQUILA BY ANOTHER NAME. ITS MADE FROM THE AGAVE PLANT.
Well done !!
I think wen we finally send people to Mars. they will find a temple already there 😂
How did they build these things in such inaccessible places..
Trump wants seriously to annex Canada and Greenland. Even Fox News hosts are telling the American audience that Canada should be part of the US.
Great deep, focused vlog, in a very interesting part of Mexico. I hope you will drive that hour or so to Mexico City as well!! Los Angeles
Welcome to Tepoztlán in the state of Morelos….There are stories about extraterrestrial visitors in this area…. I think the mezcal shot gave you the strength to reach the top…..
That was a challenging hike !
That was amazing!
Brilliant Gabe,I never thought I’d think of 🇲🇽 this way…..it’s beautiful,thanks!
Nice very Gabe. It seems like inland Mexico beats coastal Mexico in many ways.
Amazing 💯
I own a shirt you're wearing lmao. I noticed at 7:22. Got it off shein, its one of my favorites! Sick video as always.
The drink is called meScal ! Cheers….
Not a good idea to drink it before a big hike!
Wonderful🍻
Ola Gabriel you should take a zipp… then immediately bite the lemon (prefered before you take the next inhale) cheers!
Always fascinating and educational videos. Thanks Gabe.
It is mind boggling to me that Gabe has not had Mezcal before this trip. Wow. PS if Gabe is huffing and puffing up the hike, Ill have to stay at the Mezcal tent whilst others do the hiking.
Butt kicking mezcal…. Wonder what could possibly be your favorite drink!
😂 maybe NVM 😂
Looks like they could use a gondola or something similar.
ON THE WALLS OF THE BEAUTIFUL BUILDINGS I SAW ***TEMESCAL** WHAT IS THAT??? IS UT FOOD DRINK 🍸 🤔???
I'm nowhere as thin as you, I doubt I could climb that @ 18:10.
Gabo while you are here you should try Rosca de Reyes its a holiday type of bread
from a local bakery should be nice since its a big bread but they sometimes sell it in small portions
Not sure could do the uphill hike maybe if had all day! Aside you mention Machu Pichu ..isnt there a train to get up there or is there still a steep walk at end of train ride please? Had a tasing of the mezcals etc free..the group was a lot morr friendly by end of it! Love the Mexican drinks esp horchata etc
Fun on a gummy to watch, Thanks.
