Served like he voted 2024.
The sad thing was Carter was in a no win situation. The Fed was raising interest rates to combat inflation and it didn't even go down to acceptable levels until 1982. He sadly was going to lose the 1980 election the Republicans put out. The helicopter crash to Iran to save the hostages was the nail in the coffin. At least after he left he lived the life Christ taught in the Bible and now he's with his wife in heaven.
Rest in Peace Mr President 🫡
He was the opposite of Trump concerning opulence.
Good person. Good heart. But not a good leader and not a good president. May he rest in peace.
Stahl gave Carter the respect he deserved. She and 60 minutes also gave coverage to trump as if the convicted felon was a legitimate candidate. All for ratings….but it also lost them some long time viewers.
Jimmy Carter was one of the brightest and most humane presidents the US has ever had. I and many others will miss him.
He was NEVER failed to me! History will be very gracious to him.
Its a shame Carter had to live long enough to see trump reelected. Hopefully he was too out of it to notice
Good thing he moved to 2nd worse place before he died. 18% mortgage rates for one.
I hope a certain orange man doesnt live to be 100…
No he won’t….he will be remembered for a spineless puppet who let inflation run rampant. Simple really.
RIP but he was not a great President
Jimmy will be remembered for 444 Days of hostage impotency, and the president who gave us the Senior Executive Service, the revolving door between the corporate world and the administrators who regulate it. On the good side, he did declare Israel an apartide nation, Leslie Schekle.
Liberal Leslie Stahl with all of her cosmetic surgery attempts to rehab and promote Jimmy Carter
Thanks. It he will be remembered as a good man and our 2d worst president!
Good man. Horrible president.
Sorry, but he was booted out of office in a landslide for a reason. Actually, many reasons.
Carter never got credit for his being the one that deregulated industries… Regan did. Plus Regan undermining the release of the hostages in Iran.
And he’ll be remembered as the worst president of the United States! Oh wait, second worst after Biden!
No he will be remembered as a total failure
Thanks to 70+ million idiots we're getting the exact opposite of a good person next.
I have plenty of critiques regarding the Carter administration (even as I am a contrarian who holds it in higher esteem than most other recent ones from at least the mid-twentieth century onward on roughly the same grounds that, e.g., Ivan Eland of the Independent Institute does), but to my mind, those are precisely the wrong reasons to castigate Carter. Ideally, any given POTUS should not be regarded as a surrogate Pharaoh, but as a transitory bureaucratic administrator momentarily charged with great responsibilities. I guess emotionally-needy follower types just have to latch on to cults of personality as a vicarious way of living out all of their unrealized ambitions and to feel a sense of in-group belonging that they are not sufficiently receiving from other sources.
He was the awful one.
