What sn amazing team they were! I was college age during the Carter years and never had any idea what influence Rosalyn had in this administration.
Rather is such a ingenious rat 4 his whole career, Prez Carter was like 12 times Smarter then the man he was talking 2
Throwback when reporters were equally as tough on Democrats.
Dan Rather was such a showboat
I hate Carter administration because of its extremely disastrous foerign policy. He might had been an okay man, but certainly a very indecisive and weak president.
Second worst president since you know who
My 2 hero's my dad , born in Richland Ga to Bobby Carter, my grandmother on Oct 1st 1924 and my dad's and my cousin Jimmy . The Carter side of the family which I have studied which My dad took pride in comes down to the foundation of Lillian Gordy , cousin Jimmy's mom also like my grandmother and my dad and his siblings born in the small town of Richland . Cousin Jimmy was raised by a woman who supported the " underdog , which at that time were the blacks " Jimmy was raised and befriended when he was a young boy by Rachael Clark a black woman who along with a church that the land was given to the black families . On that land is also a cemetery where Rachael is buried . And Rachael fished , picked cotton , and when Jimmy's mom worked 20hr shifts as a RN , Jimmy spent the night at Rachael's home , sleeping on the floor in the 1920's . No silver spoon in his mouth or heart .
And have not even talked about how the Naval Academy shapes and molds a young person together with small town roots of close family . Carter side is close , but not perfect, but Jimmy is progressive , 1 step, 2 steps forward . 77 yrs to the same woman is beyond what most will ever have .
Talk about Poker Face!!!
Now that it's all over.. President Jimmy Carter will still be the best President ever ..the US had…all those after him pale in comparison…unfit for office from Reagan to Trump…just nobody can come close,., President Carter and Rosalynn Carter.,,together whatever these dumb Media say.,,the Citizens not only in USA, but globally President Carter was the best… winning another term would have been better for the world…
One of the worst presidents ever; no matter how romanticized he was during him memorial service.
Are We All Stupid. Jimmy Carter was a President for all Americans GOD bless him He was a farmer. He was a husband. He’s was a father He was a Man of Peace. He was a nuclear engineer. He was MY President GOD help us.
This was a typical hatchet job by Dan Rather. Jimmy Carter at this point was a failed president and a very vain man, but he was right on a number of issues, and he was right on the delegate count in 1980. Clearly, Dan Rather, who wanted a replay of 1968, so he could make Dan Rather the story as opposed to the nominee, tried to stir up a story that just wasn't there. President Carter did his best to move the Democrats forward, but pols like Ted Kennedy, Tip O'Neill, etc tried to keep the party in the old New Deal Days. Not until 3 landslide defeats did the party relent and let another Southern Democrat Bill Clinton make a try.
Great human
Bad President
Jimmy was ahead of his time. He did a great job with the resources he had available. His handling of foreign affairs was magnificent. People just didn’t understand how important his work was and is.
CBS holding a Democrat accountable. Those were the days.
A good look back at 60 Minutes and the then Dan Rather…so Long ago. Jimmy Carter was a good man who did what he thought was right, and then went back home and did more, Imagine?
Truly an abysmal President and person.
I loved and admired President Carter for his honesty, empathy, and humility. And he was NOT a bad president at all. The hostages crises took a while to resolve, but each and every one of them came back to their families without a military conflict who killed tens of thousands innocent civilians. President Carter championed humans rights and peace as president. And i think that is a great legacy. President Carter is my favorite president.
Rosalynn Carter was a steel magnolia.
He was the most awful US president in history. What he did about the fall of the Shah and Iran was not only wrong and evil, it also caused the later crisis of the hostages, and it also created a much worse world later.
I was 15 when President Carter was inaugurated and 19 the day he, unfortunately having lost to Ronald Regan, left the White House. Taking into account all Jimmy Carter's faults, he was by far the most morally-centered, principled chief executive of my lifetime. (I can't remember JFK during his tenure).
He was also incredibly hard-working, intelligent, educated, and more effective in some areas than many recall. If we as a people had accepted his wise advice on energy policy, including the pressing need for conservation, it would have mitigated today's climate crisis, to an admittedly uncertain but possibly significant extent.
Can’t even imagine a modern MSM reporter challenging a democrat president like this. Wow! How . Journalism has evaporated
He was our greatest past president 🇺🇸
