Synopsis for “The #1 Best Way to Burn Inner Thigh Fat & Lose Cellulite”
In this insightful video, Dr. Eric Berg dives deep into the complexities of inner thigh fat and cellulite, explaining why this specific fat can be particularly stubborn to lose. He distinguishes between various types of body fat, focusing on subcutaneous and visceral fat, and uncovers the alarming concept of myosteatosis—an unhealthy accumulation of fat within muscle fibers that complicates fat loss.
Dr. Berg emphasizes that addressing inner thigh fat isn’t merely about weight loss; it involves repairing and rejuvenating damaged muscle cells. He outlines an effective regimen featuring eccentric exercises, walking, and high-intensity interval training (HIIT), paired with dietary strategies like intermittent fasting and a reduced carb intake.
He encourages viewers to focus on strength gains rather than scale numbers, as true progress happens at a cellular level. With tips on rest, nutrient intake, and the benefits of cold exposure, this video serves as a comprehensive guide for anyone eager to achieve toned, healthy legs while improving overall metabolic health.

Subcutaneous fat is the fat stored just under the skin. Visceral fat surrounds the organs. This type of fat is unhealthy and inflammatory, often related to insulin resistance. Liver fat can be eliminated in a matter of days or weeks.
Fat on the inner thighs is the most difficult type of fat to get rid of. This fat is not just superficial; it’s woven inside the muscle fibers, similar to the marbling in Wagyu beef. Muscle deteriorates and is replaced by fat and scar tissue. Stem cells that make muscle cells are lost, resulting in fewer contractions, less ATP, and more insulin resistance in the muscle.
This abnormal accumulation of fat in the muscle is called myosteatosis, or intramuscular fat. This fat must be burned locally! As you begin to address this problem, you may not initially lose weight or notice a visible change, because the change occurs at the cellular level.
For inner thigh fat loss, focus on repairing damaged muscle cells, rather than simply losing weight. Strength and decreased appetite will signify that you are improving.
The root causes of intramuscular fat are the following:
•Inactivity/sedentary life
•Insulin resistance
•Inflammation
•Aging
For the most inner thigh fat loss, try the following:
1. Eccentric exercises
2. Walking
3. Sprinting/HIIT
4. Two meals per day/low-carb diet
5. Increase key nutrients: magnesium, vitamin D, and omega-3
6. Get plenty of sleep
7. Periodic prolonged fasting
8. Cold plunge/shower

This makes so much sense. I’m in menopause and on HRT which has helped me regain energy to strength train. My thighs are the only area not seeing results. I’m definitely going to do slow squats and be patient
This video speaks directly to me. I have faced inner thigh fat issues since puberty at 12. I have come to realize I have a condition called lipedema. Could you do a video on this condition in the future to help promote awareness of this awful issue? It's even worse for me as in a male and the ratio of male to female lipedema patients is like 1:100. Would love to hear what you have to say on this condition after learning about it.
Hola Doc , happy Monday 🥰, i still cant wrap my head around folks not being able to lose weight in 2025, just cut the carbs the science is there the testimonies is there, its that simple, unless you have an actual medical condition, but other than that, its so easy , peace ⚘️⚘️
Thank you for the video, but I’m also seeing conflicting information regarding fasting for women. I’m so confused about whether or not we should be doing it – I don’t want my cortisol to raise and for my body to hold on to even more fat!! I work out almost 7 days a week (rotating tennis, bootcamp, reformer pilates, run + sprint) , walk more than 10,000 steps a day and I eat a clean diet – I’m 17% body fat but my thighs still carry most of my fat… how do recalibrate everything! Thank you
This gave me a bit of hope. I've been eating the carnivore way for seven months and haven't lost any weight or even noticed a whole lot of physical changes so far. I have told myself that I will give it a year, but this video makes me wonder if I should give it even more time. I have implemented exercise, but I do need to be more consistent and amp it up. I will also try the extended fasting, as that is something I have not yet tried. Thanks for the information.
Dr.Berg, can you do a video for Tennis Elbow. Thanks in advance😢
Can the vibration plate help
I'm not a great video!!
I am a new nurse and I'm on the other side of things…Oh boy!! Lol!!I was trying to encourage a resident that it's good to walk around while she still can. She tends to complain about aches and pains because she's sedentary. She's 93 years old and she is capable of walking, but she is sedentary. She's not really obese. She's just has a large stomach due to cancer issues. I know it's tough to gain a discipline, but you have to want it enough.😊
I'm still working on myself because I haven't mastered everything. It's a journey until the end…😊
Probably your most helpful video yet 🥳😘
lol I love Dr Berg but the fat animations make me queasy 😅
I came here to shame the myths but I stayed for the useful lesson. I be wrong sometimes.
Omg seriously some of these animations are triggering my trypophobia nausea reaction 😅 I’d love to just watch Dr Berg at the whiteboard. I don’t need B-roll of undulating globs of shiny goop and noodly muscle bits 🤮 like I can’t even pay attention
How do you feel about rebounding as a full body exercise? Is it nonsense??
Idk about y’all but I dont mind inner thigh fat in fact i want my lower body as t h i c k as possible. To cry about skinny thighs is wild, your fat on your mid section is a better indicator of metabolic health
Another informative beneficial video for free! Thanks Dr Berg
Are you reading my mind? lol I was just about to like if you had a newer video on this topic!
I keep hearing that cold plunging does not have the same benefits for women and can be harmful with raising cortisol. Thoughts?
Awesome video!
HIIT & LUNGES ARE BAD BAD BAD BAD FOR KNEES IF YOU EVER TORE ANY LIGAMENTS, CARTILAGE

***Low simple carbs. Keep your Complex carbs high.***

💯👍👏🙏😊
Dear Dr. Berg,
My name is Saleem. I am writing to ask for your advice for my mother. She is 57 years old and has been suffering from Mixed Connective Tissue Disease (MCTD) for the past two years.
Her condition gets worse in the winter season. Along with MCTD, she also has systemic sclerosis, fibrotic ILD, fast weight loss, and psychological problems. Her CRP levels keep changing and are always high.
Your guidance will mean a lot to us.
Thank you, Saleem
I’ve never had joint pain, sleepiness, or cellulite my entire life since I was 15, and then when I stopped running a year ago all those symptoms came to me within the span of 6 months. Stopping was the worst decision I ever made and I’m just now starting back running.
