U.S. Government Terminates Harvard’s Visa Program: A New Era for International Students
In a significant policy shift, the Trump administration has officially announced the termination of Harvard University’s visa program, profoundly affecting the landscape for international students. This decision means that current and prospective international students enrolled at the prestigious institution will face unprecedented challenges: they must either transfer to another educational institution in the United States or, alternatively, prepare to leave the country entirely.
The change comes amid ongoing debates surrounding immigration and education policies, specifically regarding the role of foreign students in American universities. Harvard, known for its diverse student body that includes tens of thousands of international scholars from around the globe, is now being forced to reconsider its admissions process and the implications for its academic community.
The administration argues that this move is part of a broader effort to prioritize American students and reduce perceived threats to national security. Critics, however, are expressing concern that such actions could lead to a brain drain, as talented individuals may seek educational opportunities elsewhere, potentially hindering the U.S.’s status as a global leader in higher education.
As schools scramble to adapt to these abrupt changes, the future remains uncertain for many students who have invested significant time and resources into their education at an institution that has long been synonymous with academic excellence. The ripple effects of this decision are expected to extend beyond Harvard’s campus, impacting universities across the nation that rely on international students for both academic diversity and financial support.
In what many see as a fracturing of the inclusive ideals that have characterized American higher education, this latest move raises critical questions about the direction of the U.S. immigration policy and its implications for the academic and cultural fabric of the nation. The world will be watching to see how this policy unfolds and its lasting effects on global educational partnerships.

Governments around the world will rapidly switch their students to other countries. Countries pay for their own staff to study abroad. This will cost the US economy billions. Many businesses will also suffer.

Harvard's apple has a w o r m. Everyone should stay away.
The cards!
Way to go, Secretary of Homeland Security! ❤
US Secretary of Homeland Security is the best!
He is trying to turn the country into an authoritarian regime.
America is doomed
The empire is imploding. Because regardless of outcome, the trust in USA 🇺🇸 is non existent now.
RIP USA 🇺🇸
Wow, despite all evidence already available. I didn’t fully appreciate how stupid we are.
A reminder: Bashar Masri, A Palestinian-American billionaire has resigned from the Harvard Kennedy School's Dean's Council after families of Oct. 7 victims filed a lawsuit against him.
Shameful, the Trump administration attacking academic institutions.
That’s how he threatens all academic institutions not to speak up.
It's rich that the fascists who parrot literal neo-nazi propaganda like the Haitian immigrants are eating pets, are calling others antisemitic. If you just look at the Jewish vote in America, every single state would have voted for Kamala Harris. The fascists do not represent us, our interests, or our values. It's also rich that the supposed party of free speech criminalizes speaking out against a war crime taking place in a different country.
It's hard to comprehend how Trump thinks this makes his regime look better.
Unbelievable. Definitely retaliation. And what do the students have to do with any of this? Imagine working so hard to be able to enter a top university in the USA and then be caught in this senseless retaliation
after looking what he did to South Africa, this case sounds very normal to me
Trump and maga-shwaga want to turn American society into a country of ignoramuses
Another step towards Fascism. They'll be burning books next at this rate.
Just wondering, how does this make "maga" when the bright students have all their studies in foreign countries?
There is room for them in Toronto. Enjoy Canada, beautiful country. Very welcoming.
Even Donald Duck is smarter than him…
Very simple Harvard doesn't need the money as they are a rich school. Why they need the government funding?
If you take the government money, you have to be in compliance.
No need to panic! Only 3.5y left. Students will respect the decision, will find a why and come back.
This latest Fallout DLC is really stretching believability.
Being rulled by Saddam Hussein is better than being rulled by Oga Donald.
Trump = making America dumb again…
I don't expect democrats to understand. It's about donor money. Harvard has always rejected good students who weren't rich.
I stand with President Trump
Hahahahaha!
This is creepy, this is scary, this is not normal.
This is what we voted for!
Trump saying NO to having allies
Harvard fights every step of the way with the Trump administration, not a smart move, at least cooperate and talk.

Move the University to europe.
The tentacles of the police state are growing. Scary to watch.
There are a lot of international cooperations that send their more promising of employees to Harvard to study for MBAs. Trump, in his gross stupidity, may think that he is hurting Harvard, but in reality, he has taken yet another step towards alienating allies and isolating the USA from the rest of the world. In retaliation, European and other governments should immediately invalidate student visas of American citizens and deport them. This unnecessary and grossly inappropriate attack on academia and education should not be tolerated and we need to send the Trump regime a clear message that we condemn it.
30% of the student body are foreigners. UC system next please.
Are you enjoying your small government now???????
The US will pay a hefty price in long-term and nobody will remember it was caused by the creature in charge now: Brain drain.
Bye bye CCP peasants.🤪
About time
The blanket of the U.S Constitution will keep Harvard warm. 😂
