What If Our Desire for More Is Infinite? | Muhammad Yaman Khan | TEDxUniversity of Peshawar – Video

In “What If Our Hunger for Having More Never Ends?” Muhammad Yaman Khan explores the pervasive cycle of materialism that inundates today’s society. Through the lens of his friend Caleb, a young man trapped in the relentless pursuit of possessions—from the latest smartphones to high-end gadgets—Khan illustrates the broader pattern of comparison and desire for more that defines modern life.

As Caleb’s obsession escalates, Hudson identifies a disturbing trend among students, who face mental health challenges fueled by societal pressures to accumulate wealth and status. With alarming statistics highlighting the correlation between materialism and anxiety, Khan prompts the audience to question their relationship with consumerism. He posits that fulfillment isn’t achieved through endlessly acquiring more, but by shifting focus toward connections, meaning, and mindfulness.

Ultimately, Khan challenges viewers to consider: “What can I let go of to finally feel whole?” He advocates for a life centered not around material gain but genuine experiences and relationships, urging us to redefine what it truly means to be fulfilled.
