As augmented reality technology continues to advance, two tech giants, Apple and Meta, are at the forefront of designing the perfect AR glasses. Meta’s current Ray-Bans and its Orion prototype offer a glimpse of the sleek, high-tech glasses we’ve dreamed of, while Apple’s design philosophy is highly anticipated in the tech world.
Meta’s Ray-Ban Stories, released in collaboration with Facebook’s parent company, offer a stylish and lightweight design with built-in cameras for capturing photos and videos. The glasses also feature open-ear audio for discreet listening and microphone capabilities for voice commands. Meta’s Orion prototype takes things a step further with a more advanced AR display, hand tracking technology, and a wider field of view, creating an immersive AR experience.
On the other hand, Apple’s AR glasses are shrouded in secrecy, with rumors suggesting a sleek and minimalist design that fits seamlessly into everyday life. Known for its attention to detail and user experience, Apple is expected to deliver a seamless and intuitive AR experience with its glasses, potentially revolutionizing how we interact with technology on a daily basis.
With both companies pushing the boundaries of AR technology, consumers can anticipate a future where AR glasses seamlessly blend the digital and physical worlds, transforming the way we work, play, and communicate. As competition continues to heat up between Apple and Meta, it remains to be seen who will ultimately design the perfect AR glasses that will shape the future of wearable technology.

always love joanna’s vids
I wonder if it will even catch on remember Google glasses?
I’ve been blown away by how many people are ok wearing Meta cameras/mics/AI training devices on their face in public and their home.
Thank for the content!!! All we need is the right advice on how to invest in crypto and we will be set for life,
I have a pair of metas rayban and also the meta quest 3. The raybans I had – had limited recording… and you had to constantly move the data to your phone manually. The quest 3. I swear it’s made my vision a lot worse…. Maybe I don’t have the settings right but I went from barely using my glasses to having to use them. And that’s me having the same prescription for 20 years. The future is so you “can see” but it makes you blind too – in more ways than one.
Imagine the glasses being able to show you how to assemble anything with visual cues and arrows, (letting you download a digital manual on the glasses instead of using paper instructions). Or it showing you how to fix your car or do plumbing work with perfect visual instructions overlaid onto things. It would allow you to do work that costs hundreds or even thousands of dollars and currently requires a professional. The investment would pay for itself.
Vision Pro’s one good benefit for cooking: eye protection when cutting onions.
Since the video didnt show you on the the graph. The Apple Vision pro is the $3500 system, while the meta quest 3 is a $500 system. And coming from an AR/VR enthusiast, the Quest 3 pricing is perfect and the gap in these devices quality isnt very large.
Regardless of how good AR glasses are if battery won't last all day if heavy or normal use it's just expensive glasses🤔
Orion will not be available for probably a decade. And right now it costs tens of thousands of dollars to make.
Where is XREAL? Would love to have you compare/contrast their glasses and beam pro with the gear in your video. Thanks for what you did cover!
why only wsj advertises apple and meta products?
i won't adopt something with cameras and Sensors all over my head collecting brain inside and outside data!!!! glasses to replace display(s) is all i need! xreal / rokid/ viture and their improvements is more than enough!
One day we’ll look back at images of people in a crowd holding up their phones, recording a moment, and think, my god, that’s so archaic. We were missing the live moment behind our phone screens. (To then be capturing moments through their glasses.) I look forward to that day.
All correct, apart from the fact that in the face computing matrix I feel like that are aiming for the top left, not middle.
this graph is better than Nilay's ridiculousness plot
There’s no way I’m attaching anything from Facebook to my face for any period of time.
This is how you'll be training the AI. It's too difficult right now to get a robot to walk around in the world so the people will do the walk/talk around.
Joanna always the best 💪
!!I am at the beginning of my "investment journey", planning to put 385K into dividend stocks so that I will be making up to 30% annually in dividend returns. any good recommendation on great performing stocks or Crypto will be appreciated.
Smart glasses won me over, and this is the pair that did it: https://on.wsj.com/4gAT3Qw
