Zelensky refuses to endorse US-Russia talks

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has taken a strong stance against the recent meeting between US and Russian officials in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In a statement made from Turkey, Zelensky expressed his disapproval of the talks and postponed his planned trip to Riyadh in order to not give “legitimacy” to the meeting.

Zelensky emphasized that he did not want any “coincidences” and postponed his trip until March 10 as a result. The meeting between US and Russian officials comes amidst escalating tensions between the two countries and ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

Zelensky’s decision to postpone his trip highlights his commitment to standing firm against Russian aggression and his unwillingness to support dialogue that may undermine Ukraine’s sovereignty. It remains to be seen how this move will impact future diplomatic efforts and the ongoing conflict in the region.
