#1 Best Meal to Prevent a Heart Attack and Stroke: Synopsis
In this insightful video, Dr. Eric Berg reveals the single most effective meal to combat the leading causes of heart attacks and strokes—clot formation. With a staggering 80-90% of heart attacks due to clots, understanding the underlying causes is crucial. Dr. Berg explores how dormant pathogenic microbes, excess iron, and stress can disrupt normal clotting processes, leading to serious cardiovascular issues.
The star of the show is a nutrient-packed meal centered around wild-caught salmon, known for its high omega-3 fatty acid content which helps prevent clotting. Pair this with a salad featuring arugula and beets for their nitric oxide benefits, along with extra virgin olive oil and apple cider vinegar to enhance heart health. Adding garlic, sauerkraut, and polyphenol-rich dark chocolate rounds out the meal, effectively reducing inflammation and supporting overall cardiovascular wellness.
Finish with a brief post-meal walk to boost nitric oxide levels. This video not only shares delicious meal ideas but empowers viewers to take charge of their heart health naturally.

Did you know that clots cause 80%-90% of heart attacks and 87%-91% of strokes? This is why the top foods for stroke and heart attack prevention also help clean your arteries.
Typically, when a clot forms, it dissolves within minutes or hours. This is a normal survival mechanism and does not cause heart attacks or strokes. When the normal clotting process becomes dysfunctional, you can develop blocked arteries.
Dysfunctional clotting typically starts from a leak in your gums or gut when endotoxins enter the body. Excess iron can contribute to the problem. Pathogens need iron to survive. Excessive free iron can feed and amplify endotoxins, thereby awakening dormant pathogenic microbes.
Excess iron typically comes from fortified foods, such as bread, pasta, cereal, and ultra-processed carbs. If you need iron, it’s best to get it from red meat rather than a supplement. Stress increases adrenaline, which can amplify the effects of pathogens and cause them to consume more iron.
The following factors can cause issues in the gut, which can in turn affect the clotting process and contribute to blocked arteries:
•Gluten
•Alcohol
•Smoking
•Seed oils
•Ultra-processed foods
•NSAIDs
•Antibiotics
To prevent a heart attack naturally, try the following meal. It’s composed of the best foods for clogged arteries!
•Wild-caught salmon or fatty fish
•Salad: Arugula, beets, extra virgin olive oil, apple cider vinegar
•Garlic
•Sauerkraut
•Green or black tea
•Dark chocolate
After the meal, go for a 10-20 minute post-meal walk, focusing on nasal breathing.

You’re so smart. What would we do without you.
Its very difficult to find EVOO. Most of the EVOO is mixed with seed oils. I live in SE Asia, and I have no idea which bottle is the real deal. 80% are fake according to google. Help.
WHAT TYPE OF MAG?
Can anyone recommend a brand of olive oil that is just olive oil no seed oil fillers, the real deal?
This meal is literally a list of high-histamine foods. Do you have recommendations if we have Histamine Intolerance? The only foods list that are low-histamine on your list are arugula, beets, and EVOO.
THANK YOU.
Love all of Dr Berg's lectures.
So this is why I feel better after eating sardines

Thank you so Much Dr Burg. In conversation a coworker and I discovered we both watch you.
love you dr. berg. i really think that not taking better care of my teeth messed my body up. root canal and years later heart attack. ive been doing that diet for awhile with most of the supplements you talk about. fill up on fiber and water if caffeine hits you wrong and make sure its a power walk were you are kinda sweaty, not a leisure stroll to get the benefits
Great information to know. I eat a large clove of garlic daily, with my salads, and drink black tea every morning, and eat dark chocolate, and drink hot chocolate made with real cocoa powder from Switzerland. Thank you Dr. Berg. Be blessed!
Again dr. Eric Berg’s presentation of heart attacks and strokes centers on the assumption that the vast majority 80 to 90 percent are caused by blood clots. This idea is drawn directly from the theoretical framework developed by Professor Douglas Kell, who proposed that dormant microbes, when reactivated by free iron and endotoxins, trigger an abnormal form of clotting that leads to cardiovascular events. While superficially compelling, this theory fails to align with decades of hard anatomical and pathological evidence. It remains entirely speculative, lacking direct clinical or post-mortem confirmation.
Professor Hubert Mörl, a German pathologist and clinician, conducted extensive autopsies and anatomical analyses of the human heart. His findings fundamentally contradict the clot-based model proposed by Kell and popularized by figures like Dr. Berg. In hundreds of cases of confirmed myocardial infarction, Mörl documented that more than half showed no thrombus in any coronary artery. In many other cases, thrombi were present, but the age of the clot did not correlate with the timing of myocardial necrosis, rendering it unlikely to be causally related. The logical conclusion is that thrombosis is neither a necessary nor sufficient condition for the occurrence of a heart attack.
Mörl further demonstrated that the human heart possesses a dense network of collateral vessels, anastomoses that expand over time in response to chronic arterial narrowing. These natural bypasses can fully compensate for even severe occlusions. In nearly 90 percent of cases with significant coronary stenosis, there was no detectable infarction or even scarring of the myocardium, simply because the collateral circulation had maintained sufficient perfusion. This renders the entire narrative of mechanical obstruction as the primary driver of infarction highly questionable.
More importantly, Mörl’s analysis indicates that infarction begins at the level of the cardiomyocyte, not the artery. The initiating factors are intracellular: disturbances in pH, ATP depletion, ionic imbalance, particularly involving calcium and potassium and oxidative stress. These changes precipitate cell death independent of any vascular blockage. No pathogens, no microbial endotoxins, no systemic infection have ever been found in infarcted myocardial tissue in human autopsies. Kell’s hypothesis remains unverified in vivo and has no demonstrated causal relevance.
Dr. Berg’s dietary recommendations and his emphasis on iron management, endotoxins, and blood thinning foods stem from an uncritical adoption of Kell’s model. While certain foods may exert minor effects on blood viscosity or oxidative balance, they do not address the metabolic collapse of cardiac cells that Mörl identified as the true cause of infarction. The claim that clotting is central to cardiovascular events collapses under scrutiny when examined through the lens of post-mortem evidence.
The discrepancy between these perspectives lies in methodology. Kell built a biochemical model divorced from clinical reality. Mörl dissected real human hearts and reported what he observed without theoretical embellishment. That distinction is not trivial. It separates hypothesis from evidence. The cause of infarction is not an invisible microbial war activated by iron, but the collapse of energetic and ionic homeostasis within the myocardiuma process that cannot be reversed by arugula, salmon, or polyphenols. No dietary intervention can normalize transmembrane ion gradients or restore intracellular ATP in a failing heart. Kell never stood over an opened thorax. Mörl did. That difference matters.

The one who is destined to die should die…. Because he never gave up the sh**t that was harmful to his body and suffocated his family the entire time…
Carnivore diet 😊 and…. Nattokinase 😮
No iron = no energy = Hypothyroïdism
Dr Berg your plan meal is full of oxalates!
No one eats that everyday. No one. So what are other options??? A variety of foods is very important!!! Herbs, lots of them, many varieties , are very prevelent in any healthy diet found in other countries.
I guess for vegetarians there's no substitute for salmon😢
The perfect anti-clot meal includes dark chocolate. Best. Health advice. EVER. 🍫
I'm not so sure about the cast iron pan recommendation. Thatn would imply that my pans dissolve every time I cook with them.🤔
In England we call Arugula, Rocket. It’s very easy to grow. Be careful of Beetroot in “Barley” vinegar which is an irritant to people with a gluten intolerance.
Question does the dark chocolate powder break your fast? Also the beats aren’t those high in carbs or does the fiber offset it cause we grow beats we don’t eat them. I just give them to the chickens because I didn’t think we could have them.
Plants are contraindicated for the human diet, as proven by isotope studies of human collagen and remains of ancient humans.
Vidios is great informative to long.this vidios should have been 6 minute
Day 1 to 3 was extreme stress. Day 4 was the heart attack. By extreme I mean the kind that feels like a knife going through you when other people try to take control of your life against your will.
Wow.. I used to juice my arugula from the garden with 2 lemons and with it some fish (random species).
This explains why I felt so supercharged after a meal like that! 👍
I need to get back on the wagon ….
