Not going to lie, that luncheon meat and tuna scares me.
yea, it really is cheap. I teach english in Daegu. You can even have a nice dinner with a Tuna Gimbap with kimchi etc for like $3.75.
Ain't going to lie South Korea does look interesting to visit
you missed President Trump by only a few days.
The won majorly declined since the last time you were here about 30% that’s why it’s cheap
You’re proving to us that you don’t need to go to stinky feces-filled India to travel on a budget
That beer review was awesome! I appreciate your honesty! 😂 Looks fun man! I've only passed through the airport. Going to make a side quest before I go home. I'll be definitely checking on flights for Seoul.
No Soju?
Gotta have the Korean Fried Chicken and Beer.
In terms of technology, Japan has fallen behind. China is ahead, Korea also very advanced and America is lagging with countries like UAE modernizing at a unbelievable rate.
KRW is purposely devalued to benefit exports to the US. Especially now the exchange rate is very high, so KRW is very cheap for the USD holders.
SPAM is good if you slice it and fry it! Thanks, Gabe, for providing the escapism we need!
Love that t-shirt!
Did 13 month Army tour of duty in Korea in the 70’s, it was really cheap then. Not so modern but still a very memorable experience.
I wouldn't use rome2rio, Naver maps is better (there's an option to make it English in the settings i think)
Enjoyed your South Korea adventure
Hey! I’ve been watching your channel for a long time — I’m from Korea.
If you have time, you should visit my hometown, Gangneung (and nearby Sokcho).
You can get there from Gyeongju by KTX, and the fall colors are perfect right now. 🍁
So envious of the good food available. I drive around laboring to think of where to get a quick meal that is not processed, full of salt, fat, corn meal, etc, that does not cost an arm and leg. Our restaurant culture sucks balz.
oh yeah. Def SK feels….
High cost in the socialist West ,mean highrr taxes ,more Walter, and corrupción plus U. S. has World Police Tax called Military Industrial Complex.
My sis just got back from Korea recently and said it was awesome. Looks like I'm off next year then
May you will be miss Busan hotel than JAPAN ONE 😂
Maybe that guy was actually saying ‘you are cool’ which would be fitting & true
I lived there in 2017 for a year. I think it's cheap because it is not tourist friendly. They don't cater at all to tourists. And so there isn't much demand for that reason. Where as Japan caters more to tourism and is able to raise prices because of the demand. There isn't really anything about Korea that pulls you in. With that being said, it is an amazing place to live if you are there long enough.
I spent a year in Korea in 1989 and again in 1998. Great food and people, for the most part.
Hello Gabriel, Gyeongju has a lot of historical sites. That city has a very peaceful feel to it. All public transportation in SK is heavily subsidized by the government where as in Japan they are largely private and much more expensive. Also utilities such as electricity, gas and water are all subsidized and much cheaper than Japan. You will also find that entrance fees to historic sites and museums are either very cheap or free in South Korea, again they are all subsidized.
I'd be tempted to skip Japan and concentrate on Korea. Maybe visit some off the beaten track cities/ towns. I've thrown away exit flights before and you'll have a lot anyway by staying in Korea.
Naver is good.
fun!!✌☘
Gyeongju is the GOLDEN CITY for its historical significance as the capital of the ancient Silla kingdom. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Key attractions include the Bulguksa Temple, Seokguram Grotto, and the Gyeongju National Museum.
South Korea is an amazing country more developed and organized than the US I would say. There are so many places to explore. People there love HIKING. There are so many hiking trails.
In Korea, public transportation such as buses and trains is owned by the government, while in Japan, it is owned by private companies. The price difference is huge.
