The group of three men and three women of Vietnamese descent had checked into the Grand Hyatt Erawan hotel on separate occasions over the weekend. According to police official Thiti Saengsawang, evidence of consumed drinks was found in the room, with empty glasses and residue left behind. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities also searching for a seventh individual believed to be connected to the incident.
