The Free Electron Laser part caught my attention. If Tesla really makes that work at scale, wouldn't that be a bigger story than the size of the factory itself?
100 million square feet sounds almost ridiculous until you think about how many different processes Tesla wants under one roof. At that point, it's basically an industrial city.
The central circle might be the most interesting detail here. If Musk's “FEL FTW” comment actually refers to a Free Electron Laser, why hasn't Tesla explained what it's for?
One million wafers a month sounds impressive, but wafer volume alone doesn't tell us how advanced the chips are. What process nodes is Terafab actually expected to produce?
The connection between Terafab, Optimus, Cybercab, and AI5 makes sense. If Tesla really wants millions of autonomous machines, securing chip supply could become a serious bottleneck.
I can see the logic behind the project, but $119B is still a huge number. What would have to happen for Terafab to actually justify that kind of investment?

Starting to see a pattern with Musk. 1. Have a big idea that requires crazy upfront capital investment( SpaceX , Tesla, tunnels in Los Angeles, Terafab) 2. Raise incredible amounts of money, making sure you get a huge chunk of the IPO money. 3. Start these huge projects,but never really see them to the completion the stock holders are being promised.3. Find a new project to sell to the public.Would you go to a restaurant where you pay a ton of money upfront, the smells coming from the kitchen are incredible and you can see the chefs working at an incredible pace, but no one ever gets to eat the food? That is Elon's current legacy.
