AJE correspondent reports Israel’s deadliest airstrike on occupied West Bank in over two decades

In a devastating and deadly airstrike, Israel has carried out its deadliest attack on the occupied West Bank in over 20 years. The strike, which took place in a densely populated and impoverished refugee camp, targeted the leader of the Hamas military wing along with the leader of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad military wing, as well as other fighters and civilians in the area, including an entire family.

According to Al Jazeera correspondent Nour Odeh, reporting from Amman, Jordan due to being banned from reporting in the Occupied West Bank, the information is still coming in as hospitals are overwhelmed by the number of casualties. This strike, even by the standards of the Second Intifada, is considered exceptionally large and deadly.

The attack has sparked renewed tensions in the region, with many condemning Israel’s actions as excessive and disproportionate. The Palestinian territories have been a hotbed of conflict for decades, with ongoing disputes over land, resources, and political control.

The international community has called for an immediate ceasefire and a return to negotiations for a peaceful resolution to the Israel-Palestine conflict. The situation remains volatile as both sides continue to clash, leaving innocent civilians caught in the crossfire.

As the casualties continue to rise and the death toll climbs, the world watches in horror as the violence in the region escalates. The need for a peaceful and lasting solution to the conflict is more urgent than ever before.
