I think teaching a robot hundreds of tasks is much harder than making it perform a few impressive demos. I’d like to see how it handles mistakes in real-world situations.
I’m interested in the technology, but the price will matter too. Even if Optimus can do hundreds of jobs, how much would it need to cost before an average household could justify buying one?
I’m curious about the AI5 upgrade. Will the extra computing power make a noticeable difference in task performance, or is the bigger challenge still the hardware?
The Optimus Academy idea makes sense. More training data could help, but how well can the robot transfer what it learns to a completely unfamiliar environment?
I’ll believe the 500-task claim when Tesla shows independent testing. Does that mean 500 tasks it can complete reliably, or simply 500 tasks it has been trained to attempt?
What happens when Optimus encounters something it has never seen before? I think its ability to recognize its limits and ask for help will be just as important as learning new tasks.
If Tesla can get these robots working reliably in factories first, that seems like a much more realistic starting point than sending them straight into people's homes.
The target of 20,000 robots per week sounds ambitious. I wonder whether Tesla can reach that production rate while keeping quality and reliability consistent.
Making sandwiches and folding laundry are interesting demos, but can Optimus do these things consistently without someone stepping in every few minutes?
The hands are probably the most important part of this whole project. Walking around is one thing, but handling fragile objects and small components requires a different level of precision.
Opto just chillin in the Sauna ..
I would never consider buying any device or service that your Messiah, Elon, has anything to do with.
hard to belive ….anything tesla says ….
all syfy anf if it was true its only for RICH people, like his better than thou stockholders
What personal information data such as voice and video, is collected from the robot and uploaded to an AI center? Chinese robots will be collecting personal data for tracking and monitoring for control. If Chinese robots will be collecting personal information, no reason Tesla robots won’t be doing the same. What security does the owner have from any invasion of privacy? How susceptible are these robots to being hacked?
I sing thee body electric! Comments in here are very short sighted and crass. This is so much more impressive than China's kung fu hoebot. These robots can and likely will perform unmanned space exploration, and will probably build a moon base. We will be alive to see it. Amazing times we are living in. Frightening too, with good reason. We manifest our imaginations into reality. That's the dangerous part.
9:30 Connor 🙂
And STILL no demo
ok yes. But it's not "insane"
Did anyone notice the optimus puting all the books back backwards?
The scumbag has clones
An interesting thought. If AI can produce a video of the robot doing tasks flawlessly, that suggests that it can make the robot do it too.
Can’t wait meet Grok live👍
