In Brussels, the news of the uncertain outcome of Moldova’s EU referendum has sparked reactions from officials and experts alike. The referendum, which could potentially lead to Moldova joining the European Union, saw nearly all votes counted but the final result remained unclear.
President Maia Sandu, who is a strong advocate for closer ties with the EU, awaited the final outcome anxiously as the votes were being tallied. Supporters of the referendum emphasized the benefits of aligning closer with the EU, including improved economic opportunities and political stability.
However, opponents of the referendum voiced concerns about the potential challenges and implications of joining the EU, highlighting issues such as loss of sovereignty and increased pressure to conform to EU regulations.
In Brussels, where Moldova’s EU aspirations have been closely monitored, officials and experts closely watched the developments of the referendum. Discussions and reactions ranged from excitement over the potential for Moldova to join the EU to cautious optimism about the implications of such a decision.
As the final results remained uncertain, the fate of Moldova’s EU referendum hung in the balance, leaving both supporters and opponents on edge. The outcome of the referendum could have significant repercussions for Moldova’s future direction and its relationship with the European Union.

Pro western side 😂
in 2003 when we had our EU referendum in Malta, the YES won with only 53%. Nowadays if you had to hold another referendum it would definitely be a lot higher than that as we have benefited enormously from being in the EU
I hope my Country Serbia do same all against EU.
What about NATO and EU meddling 😂
The Eu is a noose and an evil warmonger empire
Majority matters
Uk will never get 70% support for the EU. All the remoaners need to get over it. We left. I dont think 70% of germans or France support the EU. Are they going to be kicked out?
losers…
Russia is working overtime in Moldova with their anti-EU propaganda
''On 24 June 2016, the recorded result was that the UK voted to leave the European Union by 51.89% for Leave to 48.11% for Remain, a small margin of 3.78%.''
Funny how it wasn't 70% back then and still counted.
EU is too big already
F24: "Russiain interference in the election".
Also F24: "If Georgians will not vote as the EU sees fit we will take away their visa privileges".
F24: "Russian style foreign agents law"
Also foreign agents law: "exists in the US since like 1930s"
lol
Russia is WORKING HARD on Moldova
Expect unfavourable results.
Russia is desperate for Moldova to not be in EU. Same with Georgia. FSB hard at work.
I see a revolution.
Just because they were paid to vote against, doesn't mean that they would vote differently.
When it doesn't go the EU way, it is definitely Russian meddling.
What a petty EU and the collective West 😂😂😂😂
the e.u are the main reason for destabilising their own states and still hell bent on continuing the madness , labour and all parties seem much different today. Wolfs in sheep's clothing.
Bad news for who?
The citizens have spoken 👏
Soros foundation has been in Moldavia for years advocating western democracy propaganda is not this political interference????
This referendum has caused more confusion more division and more question mark since the referendum was approved with slight Margin meaning 50% of the population is against of joining EU. It's better not to make hasty decisions and don't make same mistake as Ukraine when significant minority of its population was against joining EU and NATO which in turn led to Civil war. But in Moldova its a whopping 50% its better to play both camp rather them putting all fruits in one basket
US and NATO: join us = democracy
not join us = hostile government
Nobody believes EU promises any more. Invitation to join, then wait forever…
It's passed
Europe keep the door open, but not telling where the door is ….
Moldovan people enjoys coming to live and work here in Europe – same time choosing GULAG
Paradox!!!
respect people's decision, no maiden like coup
Another poor country in EU to weaken the EU.
One more country picks Russia as it should be
EU gov ‘news services’ trying to imply uk is asking to rejoin again & again is delusional. Nobody talks nor cares about eu (not counting a hardcore estimated 5-10% which are all apparently on YouTube & never shut up despite almost a decade passing), eu didn’t even make it into top 10 concerns in the recent election. It is true there was a poll showing 59%, but it was taken at the time of the last election when uk public was pissed off and threw every ruling party out. As for Moldova, that result is confusing, it is a very different situation and should be a lot more appealing to join eu, – so the fact the result is this close either way is a huge flashing red warning sign.
