In a groundbreaking development in UK politics, Rachel Reeves has become the first female chancellor to deliver Labour’s budget for 2024. In her announcement, Reeves stated that taxes would be raised by £40 in order to address the economic challenges facing the country.
However, the budget announcement has caused concern among businesses, as many fear that the tax increase will have a negative impact on their operations and profitability. Small businesses, in particular, are worried about the additional financial burden that the tax hike will place on them.
The uncertainty surrounding the budget has also led to a drop in the stock market, with investors expressing their apprehension about the potential impact of the new tax measures on corporate earnings. Overall, the business community is feeling apprehensive about the implications of the chancellor’s announcement on their bottom line.
Reeves defended the tax increase as necessary to address the economic challenges facing the country and to ensure that essential services receive the funding they require. However, businesses are calling for more clarity and support from the government to help them navigate these new financial challenges.
As the country grapples with the economic fallout from the pandemic, it is clear that the budget announcement has left many businesses feeling uncertain about what lies ahead. The coming months will be crucial in determining how businesses adapt to the new tax landscape and work to navigate the challenges posed by the chancellor’s announcement.

Push people to desperation you're not going to enjoy the response when they have nothing left to lose
Vote in socialists this is what happens….so glad I left.
finally Labour got what they always leave behind when they finish ruining the country… let's see how well they do and hopefully not get us in more debt as they usually do
Every act they do now, rightly or not will be blamed on the Tories. It’s a win win for them.
No one can ever say “by the end of the financial term we will have raised this amount” no one knows what will happen in the future.
That rail system was originally budgeted to cost 2 billion, by the end it had reached 6 billion. Don’t know how at the beginning they can keep a straight face and they say it will cost such and such, when we all know it’s BS.
Makes a change
Businesses hit badly so now there just going to pass the the costs on, so who losses out, yes we do by price rises and the economy takes a nose dive, this is blinkered politics, STOP THE BOAT PEOPLE MONEY, STOP WELFARE TO LEGAL MIGRATION AND STOP FOREIGN AID YOU DIP STICKS.
Here we go again, keeping paying more for less. Is there something in the plan about reducing the amount of money we’re giving for free to other countries?
She needs to go
A true & fair budget would start with this government means testing the freeloading elderly free socialist handout money

The budget that has addressed a lot of the issues the Tory rich were getting away with. Happy days.
