In this episode of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, Guy Fieri returns to a restaurant that is taking classic Filipino dishes to the next level with American twists. One of the standout dishes that Guy couldn’t stop raving about during his first visit was the Sisig, a popular Filipino dish made with chopped pork, onions, and chili peppers.
To recreate this “Next-Level” Filipino hot dog at home, you will need the following ingredients:
– Hot dog buns
– All-beef hot dogs
– Chopped pork
– Onions
– Chili peppers
– Mayonnaise
– Sriracha
– Pickled jalapenos
– Shredded cheese
– Chopped scallions
Instructions:
1. Start by grilling the hot dogs until they are cooked through and have nice grill marks.
2. In a separate pan, cook the chopped pork until it is browned and crispy.
3. Add the onions and chili peppers to the pork and cook until they are softened.
4. In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise and Sriracha sauce to create a spicy aioli.
5. To assemble the hot dog, place a grilled hot dog in a bun and top it with the pork mixture.
6. Drizzle the spicy aioli over the top and add pickled jalapenos, shredded cheese, and chopped scallions as garnish.
This “Next-Level” Filipino hot dog is sure to be a hit at your next cookout or tailgate party. The combination of flavors and textures will have your guests coming back for seconds. Enjoy!
