Tel Aviv engulfed in flames following raid sirens

A large blaze broke out in downtown Tel Aviv after emergency warning systems sounded in Israel’s main city, following what appears to be a rocket strike from Lebanon. The rocket hit a shopping center in the Ramat Gan area of Tel Aviv, causing widespread damage and chaos in the area.

According to reports, a rocket also struck a bus in Bnei Brak, east of Tel Aviv, as red alert sirens blared across the country. Air traffic at Ben Gurion Airport was suspended due to the escalating situation.

In addition to Tel Aviv, red alert sirens were activated in Haifa, a city in the north of Israel, indicating the widespread impact of the attacks.

Al Jazeera’s Hamdah Salhut provided more information from Jordan’s capital Amman, as Israel had banned the news network from reporting inside the country and the occupied West Bank.

The incident has heightened tensions between Israel and Hezbollah, with fears of further clashes and violence in the region. This latest development marks a concerning escalation in the ongoing conflict between the two sides.

As the situation continues to unfold, residents and authorities in Israel remain on high alert, bracing for any further attacks or retaliatory measures.
