I LOVE THIS REVIEW! Thank you for researching and sharing the historical myths.
That had to be Ron with the depictions of really old people, and calling them 11 years old. 😂😂😂
I did not know a lot of these. I love watching both of y’all’s channels. I learn more watching the channels than what I learned in school back in the 70’s to mid 80’s. Thank you from Wyoming.
Thank you Justine! We love the channel you and Ron have created.
I'm 60 years old. In school I learned there were inaccuracies in history even then. When my daughter was in school; the inaccuracies were even worse. Now my grandkids are in school and wow! It's so bad!! The "history "that is being taught is seriously inaccurate ! One example (this is American history) in America: the "Trail of Tears" where the first citizens aka American Indians were forced from their Lands and made to walk hundreds of miles to their "new home". They suffered a lot and many died; thus the name. It has now, according to my grandkids school books been changed to "the voluntary relocation "! Wtf, even with pictures of smiling First Citizens . It is just as bad with most significant historical events. Disgusting
can you do more of this, please? this is awesome- so educational! Maybe do something like little tidbits of history thats way to good to be true but did happen?
lol loved this video 😊
Thank you for all the history truths
Hygiene today is a question of money. Too many products are literally poisoning us and cause issues to our skin. I prefer not using commercial products and it is economic. When I was young, we had a bath once in a week! Thank you Justine!
such a great video. I've been trying for YEARS to tell people to stop acting like they'll live to 100. See 7:52 the increase in life expectancy is all based on a decrease in infant mortality. See Ignac Semmelweis.
I’d like to challenge your 1821 population density map. Didn’t the first settlement of the US begin with the Spaniards in 1565 in St. Augustine, FL? I live here and there’s a TON of history of the city, and the population grew after the Spanish left in 1763 and the military, convict laborers and refugee populations of Native Americans populated the city.
How did people wash at a wash stand without getting water everywhere? Especially areas you can't hold over the bowl like groin and underarms? I don't really get the method.
You are funny .
Oh my word I'm dying over the memes!!! 😂 Esp the average 11 yr old with a full on beard!
Everyone's already said things I agree with and I'm impressed. Thanks for the video Hope mishmish is okay. And I hope you're doing well Justine, have you moved into your new home yet,?
Lots of housing before the 1970s in the UK didn't have indoor bathrooms so a stand up wash was the norm, people took a lot of pride in keeping the family clean, front steps were also a source of pride too, if you all had nothing keeping your home and family clean was one way to compete
We've got them to thank for our resilient genetics. For better or worse, a weak immune sys typically didn't make it to procreate.
great video
Great video 👍🏻
I thouroughly enjoyed this, especially your tongue-in-cheek sense of humor, Justine! 😂
Nice job!
Thanks for the great history lesson!!!!!!!
Thank You for debunking these myths !!! Please do more of them ! Wishing you and Ron a Happy Thanksgiving 🦃🍽️🦃🍽️ !
Excellent video! Aren't they always!
Thanks for debunking these ridiculous ideas! You guys rock 😉
My favorite books to read are about People of the middle class. I still like Jane Austin but the upper class well blah.
I would have gotten away with it, too, if it wasn’t for you middling kids and your dog…
Really interesting. Thank you. I’m not American, so I learned a few things.
Interesting facts!
Loved the Holy Grail graphics. "Must be a king." "Why?" "He hasn't got s*** all over him." And, in reality, neither did most of the peasants. Thanks for the true facts!
Thank you for setting fire to the anti-American lies about this Nations past
Place fruit here: 🍎🍏🍎 🍅🍊🍊 have a fruitful day.
This is very interesting. I always wondered about this. But it's good that they made the effort to do something to keep clean. I can imaging how difficult it was for women during menstruation to keep themselves clean. That's very important even today. Thank you for this video. I think it helps to get rid of stereotypes that often occur.
the one I hate is they only had one set of clothing . (so what did they put in the closets and dressers ) The other one is they wore there shirts long because they wore them as night shirts .So do you thing your wife is going to let you in bed with a shirt that you wore all day on a farm or in a trades shop ? Great video
I’m a nurse and work in a trauma -stroke unit. We do act as overflow and get a wide variety of illness.
Folks start getting sick between fifty and sixty, it was the same then. Although life was more physically active and less sugar filled. So if you made it to twenty you most likely stayed pretty healthy
Love the Monty Python references!
I don't mean to tell you what to do. You are an amazing cook and person.
I've seen at reenactments turkey being cooked on a spit outside on a campfire. The only modern thing I would suggest is a meat thermometer.
OMG Been watching off and on for years. I will say, 2 seconds in, I about shit my pants hearing your voice LOL
More more more videos likes this!!
Still colonoizers in todays modern terms.
I'm not offended by term colonist when is viewed from the Indigenous perspective. In their eyes, Europeans are colonists. I can understand its use from a Euro-American perspective.
Not me taking notes haha
European Colonizers is not a myth. Do not be ignorant.
Greetings from Canada! I learned a lot about daily cleanliness in the 18th and 19th centuries from you! Thanks for debunking the horrible myths about not washing. I laughed at the images you included, showing death meeting people, and the people saying that they hadn't even reached puberty yet! That was hillarious! I like seeing your cabin, and noticed that there was a punched tin lamp hanging on a peg outside on your cabin. Did you make it? Could you make a video showing how it was made? That would be cool! I really enjoy your videos! Take care!

Fascinating vid, thanks. On one of your later points about 'colonists' etc, here in Australia some of our rulers pretend to have forgotten that from the 1700s we mapped our country, named it Australia, and that we built every city, town, village, the roads, schools, hospitals, and all other infrastructure, as well as investing the country with our laws, customs, culture, language, accent etc. That is, *we were the first Australians, and no one else.
Similarly, I read an American book about Olive Oatman, written by Royal B Stratton in the 1850s, and among the various things that were fascinating, is that all the other peoples in the US called Americans, 'Americans', and didn't consider themselves so.
Looks like people forget how people lived at the Versailles Palace.
What about the slums in New York, created by the elites by exploiting the workers?
The clothes from the period, furniture, architecture and photographs certainly do show that these people were not as tall as we are today. Irrefutable facts
Thank you for creating your well researched channel. I took my kids on a revolluntionary war trip trough once was the original colonies. Sitar ting from the first incident in Boston to the surrender at Yorktown Virginia.
Drove through as many battle sites as possible stayed in the oldest towns and inns we could find. The national parks have a lot of information along the way. It was a great trip for all of us.
Sorry for the misspelling, wrote this on a moving train
Thank you for the historical facts, Justine and Ron. Loved every minute. Have a blessed week! xoxo
