The COP29 summit in Azerbaijan has wrapped up with a deal aimed at assisting developing nations in coping with the effects of climate change. However, despite reaching an agreement, many of these nations are expressing discontent with the outcome.
The deal, intended to help poorer states mitigate and adapt to the impacts of a changing climate, has left many developing nations feeling disappointed and underserved. Critics argue that the agreement falls short in addressing their urgent needs and fails to adequately allocate resources to support their efforts in combating climate change.
One of the main concerns raised by developing nations is the lack of sufficient financial support provided through the deal. Many countries in the Global South are already struggling with the devastating effects of climate change, such as extreme weather events, rising sea levels, and droughts. They argue that without adequate funding and resources, they will not be able to effectively tackle these challenges and protect their populations from further harm.
Additionally, developing nations are also voicing their frustration with the lack of commitment from wealthier countries to take more ambitious action in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Many feel that the burden of addressing climate change should not solely fall on their shoulders and that developed nations should do more to curb their own emissions and support the transition to clean energy globally.
Overall, the dissatisfaction among developing nations with the COP29 deal highlights the persistent disparities and challenges in the global response to climate change. As the impacts of a warming planet continue to worsen, it is crucial for all countries to work together to address this pressing issue and ensure a sustainable future for all.

☪ Chapter: The Special Portion Of The Prophet From The Spoils Of War
Narrated Yazid ibn Abdullah:
We were at Mirbad. A man with dishevelled hair and holding a piece of red skin in his hand came. We said: You appear to be a bedouin. He said: Yes. We said: Give us this piece of skin in your hand. He then gave it to us and we read it.
It contained the text: "From Muhammad, Messenger of Allah, to Banu Zuhayr ibn Uqaysh. If you bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, offer prayer, pay zakat, pay the fifth from the booty, and the portion of the Prophet and his special portion (safi), you will be under by the protection of Allah and His Apostle."
We then asked: Who wrote this document for you? He replied: The Messenger of Allah. << Sunan Abi Dawud 2999 >> 🌙
