South Korean Police in Seoul Attempt to Arrest President Yoon Live

In a tense standoff near the presidential residence in Seoul, South Korean police are attempting to execute an arrest warrant for President Yoon Suk Yeol. The President is facing a criminal investigation for alleged insurrection and has ignored multiple summons to appear for questioning.

Supporters of the impeached President have warned of a potential “unimaginable tragedy” if police attempt to arrest him in the presidential compound, where he has been holed up since a failed attempt to impose martial law. Reports indicate that 1,000 officers are preparing to raid the presidential office as early as 5am on Wednesday in a second effort to take Yoon into custody.

The impeachment trial of Yoon was adjourned on Tuesday as he failed to appear. A criminal investigation is also underway to determine if the suspended President committed treason by attempting to impose martial law after clashes with the opposition-controlled National Assembly.

The situation remains highly volatile as authorities seek to remove Yoon from office and hold him accountable for his actions. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
