Have you ever dreamed of just picking up and flying to a tropical paradise with no plan in mind? Well, Gabriel Morris did just that in the winter of 1998 when he flew to the Hawaiian island of Kauai with only $30 in his pocket. What he found was beyond his wildest dreams – not only did he manage to find a job, but he ended up staying on the island for six months.
In his latest video, Gabriel shares his incredible journey of how he made Hawaii his home on a shoestring budget. From exploring the pristine beaches to immersing himself in the local culture, Gabriel’s experience is truly inspiring. Through his exploration, he discovers the true beauty of living in the moment and embracing the unknown.

How about a bench 😘
Hawaii is one of those destinations that you can fly to with hardly any money and still have an amazing vacation.
“It’s not exactly fun living in an old folks home in Eureka in the rain in winter…” So funny. You’ve had a crazy life.
Nice one
Beautiful place

You definitely are a vagabond! Would you do now what you did back in your 30s?
Absolutely LOVE the title of this video!! I have a busy day ahead of me, but it’s saved and I’ll definitely be watching this later tonight. 👏🌴☀️
So you don’t remember what you did when you spent the $30 & came back broke huh. You DO YOU but for legal reasons can not tell??
👍
Have you ever thought about hiking a long distance trail? Like the Apalachian Trail or Camino de Santiago.
Hi Gabriel, It's hard to believe he couldn't text you to let you know what's going on. It makes no sense.
I really enjoy your videos Gabe. Stay safe brother
Starts living in the past, it's a big trap! Stay safe and sane Gabe!
😊❤🇧🇦🗻🏔⛰
😁👍
Really enjoying your Hawaii series! Curious how yiu scraped together enough money for the flight after working at the old folks farm?
whoop whoop 🎉
Wow. Almost like the show where those guys travel places in Asia with no money at all.
Gabe, how long did you stay in one place the longest since moving out of your parent's home?
I love your stories and narration in your videos. Gives me a chance to be away from the tv and still enjoy your videos. ❤
You are truly a renaissance man.
Thanks!
Did you find out what happened to Yeeshua? I enjoyed your story time though. 😀
Thank you Gabriel🙂💙👍
This is the time to be in Maha Kumbh Mela – India, a spiritual festival(happens every 12 years) from 13th Jan – 28th Feb where 450 million visitors are expected to visit from all over the world and local. It is the largest human gathering on the planet. Should've shown your viewers about incredible Sadhus and their faith.
Another interesting story, looking forward to next videos. Safe journey.
Great story Gabe
💡👍Brilliant !!
Josh Cahill just flew to Cuba.
I have come to really LOVE these long stories concerning places I am interested in.
Stories about Hawai’i, and how folks come to live there, now fascinate me.
Wowww, Gabriel, you are really amazing …
Can you realize how many lives you've lived , until now, compared to sooo many other people ?
My english is too poor , in order to put into words my highest respect towards you and your fascinating, life choices , your sense of adventures ..
My best greetings from Paris , stay always safe !
Frankly, I still marvel at how you are able to hold your phone to keep yourself perfectly in frame, whilst filming yourself.
06:00– I am confused. The only north shore I know of is on O’ahu. The only Kiluea I know of is on the big island, which is one of the volcanoes, there.
Did you suddenly go to O’ahu and the big island?
So keen to know if your friend ever got back to you!
great
Hey G, There's an interesting guy on Kauai who has a Noni farm – Steve Frailey – look him up.
how? jus $30?
You have ability and versatility. Unfortunately many of the homeless in Hawaii came from the mainland with the same idea and are now living on the streets of Honolulu.
We're enjoying your Hawai'i trip! Wow, those coincidences – helpful people and even monk seals and turtles showing up unexpectedly while you were here this week!
A while back you asked viewers to share any tips on jetlag. Your walking barefoot on the sand and swimming in the ocean reminded me of some jetlag information I remember hearing from a Qigong master (Chunyi Lin) and elsewhere.
After arriving at your destination, stand barefoot on the earth, or, better yet, the sand. It also helps to get into the ocean.
If you're stuck in a hotel, soak your feet in hot water with a bit of sea salt, if possible.
Another possibility: stand barefoot on clay tile.
We are all creatures of the sun. When one suddenly experiences a new time zone, the body can experience a "traffic jam." The body processes of elimination, digestion, transformation, detoxification, etc., need to get back in sync.
I just found this information on the two-hour Chinese Body Clock time blocks which may be of interest:

We live here in Hawai'i and might also remind visitors that the sun here is powerful and skin damage does occur. Hats, sunscreen, and avoiding the hot midday sun are recommended.
Mahalo and Aloha! 🌺
These stories are soothing and good for high blood pressure 😊
I always enjoy listening to your travel and life stories, Gabe 🥹
Would be so cool to see you go to a hippie commune or something like that.
👍👍👍
I'm down to do that Nāpali Coast hike with you next time you decide to go. I'm on Oahu . let me know 🤙🤙
Really great stories on your adventures there but I really liked the photos! Ohhh, I could only imagine how fun it would have been with a group on Hawaii on a farm! The pictures really helped with visualizing the story.
