Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland, warning of an impending blast of wintry weather. As temperatures plummet and cold Arctic air meets Pacific moisture, snow has already started falling on highways and at higher elevations across British Columbia. Drive BC is urging drivers to exercise caution, advising them to equip their vehicles with proper tires and travel with emergency kits.
As preparations for the upcoming snowfall are underway, Global’s Aaron McArthur provides an update on the expected snowfall amounts and what measures are being taken to ensure the safety of drivers on the roads. With the wintry conditions expected to persist through the weekend, it is crucial for motorists to heed the warnings and take necessary precautions while travelling throughout the province.

O Canada! You are a great country but the weather sucks!
Translink is better when they are on vacation.
As Penus LeBlanc says don't let a hard blast of winter make you soft remember we can beat this thing and all, come together!
Go canada hockey sticks
I’m an Albertan wintering in the Philippines , I can watch snow fall anytime and it doesn’t bother me a bit
Every year it's the same thing.
This is Canada. It is January.
Snow usually falls on our Canadian highways and roads starting as early as September,
Why is this even considered to be newsworthy?
Global, you can do better than this.
Love most of the comments. If you arent ready for winter at this point, you are just dumb. It barely snows these days. 10-15 years ago I would see snow piles on the sides of the road where I live atleast 6-8 feet high and covering road signs. We dont get that anymore but people just cant stop worrying and complaining. I work at a mechanic shop and the amount of vehicles I see that dont have winter tires is just scary. Winter tires are made from a softer rubber that grips way better then an all season. You arent just risking your life but other people too. It should be treated like drunk driving
Im bored of people complaining for people not having snow tires. In Vancouver, we typically get around 3 days of snow a year before it melts—possibly 3 days this year, 4 days last year, and 3 days the year before. To prepare for those few days in a year, you’d have to spend over $1,500 and book appointments in autumn and spring, just to be ready for snow you could easily stay home during for a few days, adding on to the increase in fuel milage from autumn to spring. As a weather enthusiast, I’ve documented daily weather from 2021 to today and can provide proof if needed. Honestly, it seems unnecessary to go through all that trouble for just 3 days of snow a year….. who is the dummy here…😂
After salt your car will be rusting 😕🤷♂️
it's not the 3 days a year of snow this winter we should be worried about, it's the long, cold economic ice age that Canada has to look forward to that we should really be worried about
It’s snow. Sadly immigrants can’t drive
🥱😴
