Virtue (1932) is a hidden gem of pre-Code Hollywood that showcases the talents of Carole Lombard and Pat O’Brien in this gritty and heartfelt story. Lombard shines as Mae, a wisecracking ex-prostitute with a vulnerable side, while O’Brien brings a mix of grit and heart as the cab driver who takes a chance on her. Directed by Edward Buzzell and written by S.N. Behrman, this film is packed with snappy dialogue, emotional depth, and an unvarnished look at life on the fringes. Virtue is a must-watch for fans of early Hollywood films with bite, charm, and a touch of edge. Don’t miss out on this underrated classic that deserves more recognition.

A guy who's bitter toward women (excuse me, this is a 1932 movie, so "dames") meets one with a checkered life; he doesn't know this, so they get married and…well, the inevitable happens. Watchable comedy-drama-romance-gangster movie written by Frank Capra's #1 screenwriter Robert Riskin but without Capra's inimitable pace; it seems, even at 68 minutes, notably longer than it is, especially when it veers away from its two central characters and attempts to grow a plot. But that's understandable because the guy and gal are so likable and appealing; your rooting interest in them is awfully powerful. Of course the fact that Pat O'Brien and Carole Lombard were not only two of the best but also the nicest people in 1930s Hollywood might have SOMETHING to do with it! 7/10.
An exceptional film. Great filmmaking, acting and direction. Many thanks!!!
The Ads just keep coming.. Surprised not really! 😢😡..
100:00 — "You wasn't no Clark Gable!"
Great entertainment. Not only was Carole Lombard knock dead gorgeous, she was a great actress. Good cast- interesting plot. Very enjoyable.
Great movie, sure hate she died in a plane crash rushing to see her man.
I'm getting soft, I cried.
Thanks for posting fhis movie today 😮😮😮😅😅😅😅😊😊😊
Best chemistry from the leads I ever saw!
Supporting actress is Mayo Methot, who was the first wife of Humphrey Bogart. She actually was a beautiful woman on screen, when allowed to be. She was born in 1904. Bogie dumped her for Lauren Bacall, who was born in… surprise!… 1924.
Ward Bond, Carole Lombard. This made my day. She was something else. Gone too young.
Virtue (1932) starring Carole Lombard & Pat O'Brien. Now I'll tell ya something else. This picture is a humdinger like UTube rarely deigns to have allowed to be posted!
One of Lombard's finest performances, and so early in her career!

It was such a fun movie and one of Carole Lombard's best, but then there is always this little sad spot toward the end :-(. Many thanks for uploading anyway!
