Africans are smart. 👍
Banks beware. But that guy is right the bank lobbyist in congress would not allow that innovation here.
These people want to desperatelly survive where the west has become lazy. When you have nothing very little is appreciated much differently.
What happens if they lose their phone?
Ever heard of the blockchain? 😊
Wow, that’s very interesting. This idea is brilliant. The US should take note on that.
Use Fediment
It's great news… The banks are crazy and the CEO's gets millions….
It was all planned and patents issued decades ago, but 60 minutes will act as if governments and banks are looking for solutions. Banks don't need brick and mortar banks anymore.
Love this!! American banks will hate it because less money made with less fees being paid and branches close etc.
So your phone goes dead or if you lost it, then no $. You starve
Sounds like Google Pay or Google Wallet. I like it!
For a second I thought she was in a studio pretending to be in Kenya lol 😂
Thanks,
This guy was a genius 😎
Where do they get the paper money from to trade in to become online currency I wonder?
Thanks,
m-pesa sounds like its working for the people! i hope that 60 minutes helped people out while they were there.
Its like rich and greedy people are the worst here because they've convinced us it can't be better. All the while, they just make it worse and spend 2/3rds of their revenue to convince people that it's the best here and cant get better.
But I dunno, I'm just a peasant from a podunk town that is so small, its technically not even a town. All I've learned in my past is that people would rather listen to a rich butthole than a poor country boy that wants a better future.
He unfortunately died….this must be an old report
WOW ❤❤❤
Indian was UPI money transfer
Cash app has been doing this for years.
Wakenya na pesa
Nice work. I'd however like to make a correction. The technology did not originate in England, let alone the idea itself which was sold by a university of Nairobi student to Safaricom.
Who needs bitcoins, when you can have M Pesa
❤🥹❤
In the Philippines, we've been using similar technology we call Gcash which we adopted many years ago.
I had no idea how innovative Kenya is with mobile payments. It’s amazing to see how they’ve built a system that’s accessible to everyone, even without a bank account. Truly inspiring!
Overall, 4RA has made cricket season a highlight of the year for us. Can’t imagine it without the app now!
Mate, 4RA events have brought us closer, now we enjoy every match together
her Western capitalist mind could not compute.
Rest In peace Bob Collymore
I wonder if the Cash App founders got the idea from this. Blacks are the creators and originators of everything.
I LOVE THIS. We NEED this in America,It would eliminate the need for banks, bank accounts, corruption and unneeded trips for bill paying.
Genious🎉
We have this thing in the Philippines since 2000s.
Most African countries use mobile money, Zambia have two mobile companies doing this
Ecocash mobile money in Zimbabwe has existed for more than a decade & it's in US$
Mpesa was invented in Kenya, not in England.
Mpesa Technology was not invented in England, it was invented by a young innovative Kenyan.

₿itcoin is the future of money.
