2026 Tesla Model 2: The Game-Changer Priced at $15,990 – Shocking News Leaked by Elon Musk!
Excitement is building in the automotive world as Tesla prepares to launch its highly anticipated 2026 Model 2, a budget-friendly electric vehicle priced at an incredible $15,990! Produced at the Fremont factory, this new addition to the Tesla lineup is raising eyebrows and sparking discussions about its impact on the market.
Elon Musk has confirmed that the Model 2 is essentially a scaled-down version of the popular Model Y, designed to cater to a broader audience without compromising the Tesla experience. With about 90% of its design mirroring that of the Model Y, the Model 2 boasts a simplified interior and features, making it an affordable alternative that could disrupt the EV landscape.
Originally slated for a $25,000 price tag, Tesla’s innovative use of existing Model Y production lines allowed them to drive costs down further, yielding significant savings. This strategic move positions the Model 2 to be not just a “tiny Model Y,” but a viable competitor to other affordable vehicles in the market.
Production began in June, with a grand reveal scheduled for November at the Tesla Shareholder 2025 event. As we delve into the details, we’ll explore what’s confirmed, what sacrifices have been made to achieve this price point, and predictions on the potential impact this could have on Model Y sales.
Is Tesla striking the perfect balance between affordability and quality, or is this a gamble that could backfire? Join us at Tesla Car World as we dissect this groundbreaking announcement and what it means for the future of electric vehicles!

Tesla’s Fremont camo sightings totally make sense now.
Could the Model 2’s lower initial price result in cheaper materials that wear out faster and require more frequent service?
The Giga Press is the unsung hero in this whole story.
Yes!!
Mmmicromachines brought to you by Queaumo’s queries. Because doughnuts are for losers.
If this is true then the model Y will tank
There is no risk if the profit margin remains the same!
My preference would be the full size Y, but it's not a deal breaker. Cooling seats is not an issue. Power gate is not an issue. $15,990 is the winner for retired folks and young people who are not making a lot of money
He's just doing what all other car manufactorers do. Fine by me (I have a Model Y Performance)
real Americans hate nazis.
❣️
I would like to see a 2 door model with basic features short range for local use.
No heated seats! That’s not good here in the Midwest!
Sr. Veteran?
Ok
People are going to be really disappointed when it finally shows up at a much higher price.
Remember the Cybertruck that was supposed to cost only $39,900.
Been waiting patiently for Model 2 to come out. I will buy for sure.
I want the Alum – Ion battery, Pancake Motor, leather seats, and the solar roof.
I will buy one and I swore I never would.
16k US$ will get a lot of people to EV. Very stripped down. But who cares, given the price…
If those claims about 550 miles of range between charging and charging to 100% takes 5 Minutes? IF even close to being true, then I am all over ELECTRIC Vehicles if the performance and safety is also acceptable!! If TESLA makes the vehicle inder $25K and it is loaded with the latest tech, and still meets great power, performance, safety and value, DAMN!!!
Welcome Finland 🌲🇫🇮 Forest man 🇫🇮🌲
You smoke angel dust if you think of this car is gonna be under 20 Gs😂
After deducting the Model Y vs Model 2 deductions, there is no way you can go from $50k to $16k unless you are not telling us something very significant. The cost savings you mentioned were only about $1.3k. However would I buy a Model 2 at $16k? Heck, yeah…. it's just I don't see the drastic math savings. Interestingly, the Chinese can do it for $12k! TSLA has a very serious competitor. Elon should stop wasting time on politics, imo.
I love it
yes
save the leather
Yes
Nothing being removed is something I'll miss. Fewer motors to fail.
I'm 6'2" and 75 yrs young. If I can get in and out I'll buy one.
Until the ride is more Cush and softened I’ll never own one . Even if you give it to me. Soft ride is the key.
Looks good to me ! A mini model Y is perfect for me .
