Between 1976 and 2003, 14 Concorde aircraft jointly developed by France and England epitomized
aerodynamic elegance and aviation luxury, allowing passengers to cross the Atlantic in a mere three
hours, at twice the speed of sound. Then on July 25, 2000, Air France Flight 4590 crashed shirtly after
take off from Charles de Gaulle airport, in Paris, killing all 109 people aboard and another four people
in a hotel hit during the fiery crash. What went wrong in the Concorde? What design and operation
oversights led to the horrific crash?
