New 2026 Europe Travel Visa Requirements: ETIAS Explained
The landscape of travel to Europe is undergoing significant changes in 2026. With the rollout of the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS), approximately 1.4 billion individuals from over 60 countries that currently do not require a visa will need to obtain travel authorization before setting foot in many European nations.
This new requirement aims to enhance safety, streamline border control, and improve overall travel security within the Schengen Area. Travelers need to be aware of the specific European countries that mandate ETIAS approval, the application process, and any exemptions that might apply.
In this informative video, we’ll break down who needs to apply for ETIAS, which countries are included, and how you can prepare for your upcoming European adventures. Whether you’re planning a romantic getaway, a family holiday, or a solo adventure, understanding these new regulations is crucial for a smooth travel experience.
Stay ahead of the curve and make sure you’re prepared!

David. How you? We are flying to Rome in September and exploring 3 days before getting on a cruise ship for Mykonos, Santorini, Kudasi Turkey and Naples. Does this pertain to cruisers as well or just ppl flying in? Know we need 1 for Turkey but think I heard you say Italy. Thanks. Gonna look into these things.
Thank you for this valuable information!

It’s been put on hold until the last quarter in 2026
Thank you Mr trump
More controls for legal visitors who will bring revenue to EU member states, but less controls for illegal migrants who are a net drain on state resources. Makes sense. #sarcasm i

ETIAS travel authorisation is an entry requirement for visa-exempt nationals travelling to any of these 30 European countries, costing EUR 20. It is linked to a traveller’s passport. It is valid for up to three years or until the passport expires, whichever comes first. If you get a new passport, you need to get a new ETIAS travel authorisation.
1. Fill in the application
2. Pay EUR 20 application fee
3. Get your travel authorisation
4. Travel to Europe
5. Stay for up to 90 days
With a valid ETIAS travel authorisation, you can enter the territory of these European countries as often as you want for short-term stays – normally for up to 90 days in any 180-day period. However, it does not guarantee entry. When you arrive, a border guard will ask to see your passport and other documents and verify that you meet the entry conditions.
