“It was very rough,” she said. “What’s meant for you is always going to work out. And if something is constantly making you feel uncomfortable, just on edge all the time, you probably are not supposed to be there. God will always make you uncomfortable when something is not meant for you.”

Megan continued: “I think I just kept trying to make pieces fit that didn’t belong, trying to fit myself into someone else’s life. I was losing myself a little bit. I am now in the space of finding me again.”

The “Savage” rapper explained that she has three musts when it comes to her next relationship. “Trust, fidelity and respect are nonnegotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward,” she revealed. “I cannot be disrespected. I cannot be a person who is not gonna be me. I cannot not go to work. I’m going to be Megan Thee Stallion … You will not disrespect me. And you will be thankful. Period.”

Megan later shared that she’s feeling like she’s “been put through the washing machine and the dryer with tins, shovels and a cactus.”

Megan Thee Stallion and Klay Thompson first went public with their romance during a red carpet appearance at Meg’s Pete & Thomas Foundation Gala in NYC in July 2025. They ended up dating for less than a year, as Megan released a statement confirming the couple had split in April, and claimed infidelity for the cause of the breakup. The athlete has yet to publicly address her allegations.

The rapper said when confirming the couple’s split in a statement to Billboard at the time: “Trust, fidelity and respect are nonnegotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward. I’m taking this time to prioritize myself and move ahead with peace and clarity.”

As she enters another chapter in life, MTS is also preparing for a new era of music. She’s continued to tease Act III throughout the last month. While the project doesn’t have a release date yet, Megan’s return seems to be imminent.

The Houston native’s most recent album came with Megan in June 2024, which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 with 64,000 total album-equivalent units.
