Tesla Cybercab Robotaxi: A Game-Changer in Autonomous Transportation
In the rapidly evolving landscape of transportation, the Tesla Cybercab Robotaxi is making waves. With over 300 vehicles reportedly operating in Austin, Tesla seems poised to redefine the future of affordable driverless transportation. But what does this mean for urban mobility?
In our latest video, we delve into exciting updates regarding the Tesla Cybercab Robotaxi, including the growth of the Austin fleet and the potential for expansion into markets like Dallas. At the heart of this discussion is the fascinating Unboxed manufacturing process, along with key specifications that promise to make this vehicle a frontrunner in the autonomous taxi space. We speculate on the ambitious $30,000 price target, making the prospect of driverless taxis more accessible than ever.
However, it’s not all smooth sailing. We explore the nighttime detection challenges that Tesla faces, some of which differ significantly from competitors like Waymo, which employs a multi-sensor technology approach. Understanding these technical hurdles is crucial as we consider the future of Tesla’s Robotaxi initiative.
But there’s more to the Tesla narrative. The video also takes a peek into the anticipated Tesla Roadster, rumored to incorporate SpaceX thruster technology that will push the boundaries of performance. We discuss its production timeline, and the growing buzz around reservations.
Whether you’re a die-hard Tesla fan, an electric vehicle enthusiast, or an investor intrigued by the self-driving revolution, this video offers valuable insights into the future of robotaxis.

The fleet expansion in Austin is interesting, but I think the real test is how well these cars handle everyday traffic. More vehicles alone doesn't prove the technology is ready.
More than 300 vehicles sounds promising, but how many are actually providing rides to paying customers? Fleet size and active service capacity aren't necessarily the same thing.
I'm more interested in the nighttime detection issue than the expansion numbers. A robotaxi needs to handle unusual situations reliably, not just drive well under ideal conditions.
Comparing Tesla with Waymo is interesting because they're taking different approaches to autonomous driving. Which system do you think has the better long-term strategy?
A steering-wheel-free car sounds convenient for short trips, but I'd want to see more real-world safety data before trusting one completely. Would you ride in one today?
The camera-only approach is what interests me most. Can Tesla really handle dark roads, heavy rain, and unexpected obstacles without LiDAR?
I'm curious why Dallas might be next instead of Houston, especially with so many Cybercabs reportedly spotted there. Does anyone know what Tesla considers when choosing the next city?
The Unboxed manufacturing process could be just as important as the self-driving technology. If Tesla can simplify production, it might make the economics work much better.
The Cybercab and Roadster are two very different projects, but both show how ambitious Tesla's plans are. Which one do you think will have a bigger real-world impact over the next few years?
That $30,000 fee will most likely be the first installment for the inevitable lease that will be the forecast of future contractual obligations you will be "roped" into accepting, if you want to play the rigged game that monopolistic capitalism will require. That is what our form of capitalism has become… governmentally influenced private industry means that socialism and communism are at play… you are allowing this as well as the Globalist Agenda 20-30 usurping your government and you will eventually be moved to a reeducation camp, in one of the many 15-Minute Cities being built near you. You will be part of the "Brave New World."
300 Cybercabs sounds impressive, but can Tesla prove they’re safe at night without LiDAR?
❤🤗
Impressive numbers. If you need a solution to addressing “fleet idle time” , I have one. ☝️
can't wait
26A12月10:33 TeamTakeover; Missed the Starbase convoy (after 30+hr non-stop ‘26Y-FSD drive from SoCal)! Been there 5x, prior, for launches, etc. Oh well, after some sleep, still need to ride a Robotaxi/CyberCab! Any hints where to get in one today, Monday? My last charge b4 hitting Tesla HQ was at an Austin SC full of RTs & CCs, but no idea where it was, after getting enuf electrons & just glad to have made it to HQ. Guessing Austin, Research Blvd. Gateway Center. Wish me luck or advise, accordingly. ETA, 11 AM, plus catching lunch, in town, b4 the looong drive back! B nice to catch one other goal (never heard back on the 3 factory tour tickets I bought), than just the Light Show (I’m at 7:17 in, videoing at lower/left, w/ Butterfly my Rottidor, hiding between my legs). I’ll try back here, before heading out, JIC someone clues me in. Tesla Forever!!!
AMD、Nvidia 、Tesla:
台積員工,為晶盡瘁、生生不息。晝為晶榮,夜為晶眠。極致求晶、魂牽夢繫。若台海劍拔弩張,兒披戰甲,女護老小;唯盼世平神州,笑睹晶美客安。
Congratulations to the Austin Cybercab fleet on hitting 300! ❤
Sounds like ai
Doesn’t Musk still need to convince Feds that the rules requiring a steering wheel, pedals, and side mirrors are unnecessary? Kind of a gamble building so many so soon.
In the land of the blind, the 13 camera, 4 lidar sensor, and 6 radar unit vehicle is king.
Another Tesla Robotaxi video—-enjpoy! https://youtu.be/ora18TUrh4Y
The mechanism by which Tesla cameras capture near-infrared (NIR) light relies primarily on the physical properties of the camera sensors (imaging elements).
➊. Sensor Sensitivity: The silicon material used in digital camera sensors is inherently sensitive not only to visible light but also to light in the near-infrared spectrum.
➋. Filter Control: While standard cameras use "infrared-cut filters" to block near-infrared light—which would otherwise cause unnatural colors—Tesla's automotive cameras are specifically designed and tuned to allow this light to pass through.
➌. Photon Conversion: By physically capturing near-infrared light and converting it into electronic signals, the camera sensors visualize heat sources invisible to the human eye (such as body heat or small animals) and objects in the darkness of night.
This enables Tesla's AI system to perceive nighttime environments in detail—effectively like "bright daylight"—even in conditions that appear pitch-black to the human eye. LiDAR cannot detect heat sources.
300 vehicles reportedly operating in Austin? I’d love to see how many are actually driving fully autonomously without human intervention.
Nighttime detection is a huge challenge. I want to see real-world data before deciding which approach works better.
The idea of a Cybercab with no steering wheel is exciting, but I’d need to trust its safety record before getting in. 👀
The Unboxed manufacturing process is what interests me most. Lower production costs could be just as important as the self-driving technology.
The comparison with Waymo is interesting. Tesla’s camera-based approach has a lot to prove, especially at night and in bad weather.
If Tesla can really get the Cybercab near $30K, the economics of robotaxis could look very different.
Consider me a crotchety old fart, but have no intention of ever getting in into one. One reason, it's taking jobs from individuals that need the work &. the dignity that comes from honest work. Many years ago I had to deliver pizza to make ends meet. That was not a career choice, but as a stop gap. Many depend on the income from Uber/Lift. in the same way. For the same reason I will never use self checkout. The grocery stores use part time kids & seniors. The kids need the experience, sadly the seniors need that little bit extra every month. I'm a shareholder in Tesla & very much admire Musk, but until we have addressed the unemployment/underemployment issues, I'm standing firm on this
Cabin Entry Height of only 16.5 inches! Wow, so you have to be really small to actually fit into a CyberCab.
I want to rent a cybercab someday. Pennsylvania is tough.
A fleet of 300, but only 10-30 on the road any any given time. So the number is meaningless really
Will eye be able to tot my tools without it pulling over and alerting authorities like Waymo doin Way Mo than they should be doing since my tools are legal and I have a ccw…..?
Tesla Channel 🎉,, super great 🎉
