A Look at Election Night 2026 in BC: A New Era for the Conservatives
On a night marked by fervent anticipation, British Columbia witnessed a seismic shift in its political landscape as the BC Conservative Party, under the leadership of Lorne Doerkson, emerged victorious, securing a projected majority government. This pivotal election, held on Saturday, unfolded against the backdrop of unexpected chaos and uncertainty, especially following the snap election called by Premier David Eby in September.
As the results rolled in, it became increasingly clear that the Conservatives had defied the odds. With 47 seats needed to claim a majority, the party is forecasted to capture over 60, signaling a resounding mandate from the electorate. Doerkson, who led the party through a tumultuous campaign, can take pride in this substantial win, fundamentally altering the dynamics of governance in the province.
Political analysts Keith Baldrey and Ben O’Hara-Byrne took to the airwaves to dissect the implications of this dramatic turn of events. They highlighted the chaos that preceded the election, with the BC Conservatives appearing to be in disarray just months earlier. This victory, however, underscores a significant realignment among voters, who seem to have embraced the Conservative platform amid prolonged discussions surrounding policy and direction for the future.
The magnitude of this election outcome cannot be overstated. As the dust settles, British Columbians now face a future where the Conservative Party holds the reins of power, potentially steering the province in new and unexpected directions. The ramifications of this election will echo through every level of governance as Doerkson and his team take charge, navigating the complexities of policy implementation and engagement with citizens eager to witness change.
With this dramatic electoral shift, the conversation around British Columbia’s political future is now focused on what lies ahead. As voters and political observers alike turn their attention to the new government, the next chapter of BC politics promises to be as engaging and contentious as the campaign itself.

Eby thought he had a safe supply of ndp voters ……
When will Canadians at the Federal Level do the same thing and kick the Liberals to the curb. Time for change!
Eby had completely lost the plot. There was no reason to call an election. Dude has terrible political instincts.
Thought Conservative supporters polls were gone. According to Carneys paid leftist media
Do you guys know that the Canadian press is superior to and more professional than, the American press? I enjoy watching your press better than I like watching the overly biased and bigoted American press.
Leftist Corruption Backfired Big Time 🤭 Incredible story how all this happened.
hilarious. so dave eby tries to steal another 4 years by calling a snap eleciton, thinking the trumpd erangement syndrome boomers would all be on his side, and then it backfired entirely, cause it turns out people care more about housing, crime, poverty, and the absolute destruction of canada by our own leaders. take the l buddy.
Thats funny
..Eby thought he had something..Next has to be Carney
Congratulations
Political fumble: A David Eby story 😂
Win for Canada
How many months till the left starts complaining about no doctors, hospitals in bad shape, schools falling apart, homeless and drug problems East Hastings street
People don't want shared property titles. Why they thought calling an election soon after allowing a judge to put that into precedent is beyond me.
No more (tanker ban) now! NO boogeyman NOW CARNAGE! He's…. GONE!!👽 'Oil AND Gas (flowing)!'…
I'm no fan of conservatives winning, but every time a party loses a snap election they called it's good for Canada's democracy.
…DECIMATED!!!..😂😂😂👽💀👀☠️
About time BC got their chit together.
Change is here!! 🎉
Goofiness. If one party stumbles, flip and put the arsonists in power.
What went wrong? It's simply the time to change diaper
It is about time normal and intelligent returns to BC.
How over night do you go from being a lefty Socialists to a normal person? Most voters have no idea what they are doing.
It's time for Carney to be replaced now
A snap election was an assured suicide. British Columbians assisted to it. And, they also contributed to it. Now, get this house in order. You have elected new officials to represent you in your new government. It's you and all of you who is part of your government, Canadian citizens.
Hahahahah the guy with his technical malfunctions trying to swipe. This is perfect
Goodbye NDP……goodbye DRIPA……good bye Safe Supply…..goodbye Facilitation over Rehab….goodbye SOGI……a great night for BC!
Happy to see most BC voters go more right this time around. The left had gone way overboard
I voted for Malfoid!
WEXIT.
Donald Trump is so happy for your contribution
He gets his taxpayer funded pension for life. Thats the real tragedy
Well, I Wish Him well. You have a mess to Clean Up.
The BC people wanted a change…Now they got it thankfully.
This is Fantastic News for Canada! A big problem for Carney!!!!!
As an independent voter, I wish all the best for our new government. I'm glad I voted Conservative after watching the speeches…David Eby wasn't gracious in defeat, Emily Lowan was worse…we live in a democracy, the people have spoken..LD has a mandate
It was stupid to call an election, but I still voted NDP, much to my chagrin. Only because conservative governments are not in the best interests of Canadians right now. But obviously you shouldn’t underestimate the power of “protest votes”. But no matter to me; we’re moving out of B.C. next spring anyways so I really don’t care.
Chains are off, get ready for PAYBACK
