Doechii Goes Dance-Pop & Throws a Wild Slumber Party for ‘LOCK JAW’ Swamp Sessions Video

Doechii knows how to throw a party. The Florida rapper returned on Friday (Oct. 30) with another installment of her Swamp Sessions series. Doechii shows off her versatility by leaning into her dance-pop bag for “LOCK JAW,” which was accompanied by a slumber party visual.

Doechii doesn’t play when it comes to her sleepovers. Neon lights, colorful streamers, balloons and light-up accessories such as rings and sunglasses fill the room to set the vibrant scene.

Things take a sultry turn as the 28-year-old uses an illuminated sex toy as a microphone. She shrewdly interpolates Snap!’s 1992 “Rhythm Is a Dancer” hit throughout the sassy clip. There’s plenty of twerking too, with Doechii dancing in furry boots, cheetah-print shorts and a Madonna-invoking Like a Virgin sheer top.

All hell breaks loose when a pillow fight sends feather bombs flying throughout the room; sleep doesn’t appear to be on anyone’s agenda for the night.

Between the vivid colors and VHS camcorder-styled footage, the clip is giving vintage vibes as Doechii straddles the line with a blend of EDM, hip-hop and pop.

Earlier in October, Doechii revealed the aspirations behind her anticipated debut album in a handwritten diary entry, which details her mission to exist at the intersection of hip-hop and pop.

“I spent the last few years relearning Hip-Hop as a student. Studying its language, history & roots. Now I feel inspired to contribute to evolve it,” she wrote. “A mission is brewing inside of me (a responsibility really) to see Black womanhood exist at the center of Hip-Hop AND Pop.”

Doechii’s 2024 mixtape, Alligator Bites Never Heal, took home best rap album at the 2025 Grammy Awards and reached the Billboard 200‘s top 10.

She has released a pair of Swamp Sessions exercises with “BOMB” and “CATWOMAN” already in October. Prior to that, earlier this year, the TDE rapper teamed up with Lady Gaga for “Runway,” which hit No. 50 on the Billboard Hot 100.
