Families of former residents in a retirement home in British Columbia are currently in a legal battle over security deposits that were allegedly wrongly withheld by the facility. Greg Stewart is one of the individuals who have come forward with complaints about a Langford, B.C., independent living facility keeping their family members’ damage deposits when they moved out. This has sparked a call for better renter protections for seniors in the province, as families argue that it is simply not right for these deposits to be withheld unjustly.
