In the midst of the Mediterranean migrant crisis, a contentious debate surrounds the actions of volunteers working to rescue migrants in Greece. One such volunteer, Mo Abbassi, left his home in Denmark to join Team Humanity, a non-governmental organization dedicated to providing aid to migrants in need.
Abbassi’s journey is documented in the Witness Documentary, which raises the question: are these humanitarian efforts truly helping those in need, or are they crossing legal boundaries and becoming criminal acts?
As Abbassi and his team navigate the treacherous waters of the Aegean Sea to rescue stranded migrants, they face a multitude of challenges and risks. The documentary highlights the dangerous conditions these migrants face, as well as the complexities of the legal and moral dilemmas surrounding their rescue efforts.
Critics argue that these volunteers are encouraging illegal migration and putting themselves and the migrants in danger. However, supporters argue that these humanitarian efforts are necessary to save lives and provide much-needed assistance to those in desperate situations.
The Witness Documentary sheds light on the ethical dilemmas faced by volunteers like Abbassi, who must navigate a complex and ever-changing landscape in order to provide aid to those in need. Ultimately, the question remains: are these rescues acts of compassion or acts of defiance against the law?

I’m wondering why none of these migrants going to Middle East countries like. UAE, Saudi,Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait etc. why humanity doesn’t work there?
violating borders is not migrating
migrating for work?
It’s absolutely criminal, if these people were actually legitimate refugees fearing for their safety, they would take shelter in the first safe country they entered. Instead they leave these safe countries and head for the west. It’s greed that drives them not desperation.
Would be better with a narration or a commentary
Why cross from turkiye ?.. y not stay at turkiye itself…?
Rescuing illegal immigrants, who are used as a geopolitical tool by Turkey, that will end up in Germany and after 10 years only 40% of them will have a full-time job. Better title ..

People Warehousing: Problem is that we seem unable to stop those in our society who cause all the wars and social exploitation and thus cause so many people to leave their homes and risk their lives in dinghies. At another level, it is our own establishment the creates the imbalances that further criminal behaviour.
The only way we can address the situation is by breaking the establishment's system of top down rule and exploitation.
In practice, all this globalisation is nothing other than rule and exploitation by syndication, mafia style. Working in sync, it's the mother of all protection rackets. Having achieved global dominance, the syndicates profit from war, from resource grabs, from refugees (people warehousing at taxpayers expense). All the while, they exploit local and displaced people more easily by breaking any sense of unity. It's not a displacement or replacement policy as such, but the most ruthless human exploitation policy imaginable. A never ending supply of disenfranchised humans constitutes a resource to be exploited and discarded. The church didn't call us the flock for nothing.
All those "helping" should be charged with human trafficking
