Chile ranks tenth among wine-producing countries in the world market.
The vine was introduced to Chile by the Spanish conquistadors in the 16th century.
Increasingly, the country is calling on the know-how of French winegrowers and cultivating vineyards from cuttings of European vines taken before phylloxera hit Europe.
