The European Union is set to implement new visa rules that will impact non-EU citizens looking to travel to the region. The EU plans to introduce a €7 (£6) visa waiver for certain non-EU citizens by the summer of 2025.
This new system will allow visitors from select countries to apply for a visa waiver which grants them entry to multiple countries within the EU. The €7 fee will apply to each visa waiver and is intended to streamline the visa process for travelers.
The introduction of the EU visa waiver is part of a broader effort to attract tourists and boost the region’s economy. By simplifying the visa process and making it more affordable, the EU hopes to increase tourism and facilitate travel for non-EU citizens.
While specific details about which countries will be eligible for the visa waiver have not been announced, the EU is expected to release more information in the coming years. This new system is seen as a positive step towards making travel to Europe more accessible and convenient for visitors from around the world.
