An unprecedented labour stoppage is looming over Canada’s two main railway companies, Canadian Pacific and Canadian National, as workers threaten to go on strike. The potential strike could have a significant impact on the Canadian economy, particularly on industries such as agriculture that heavily rely on rail transportation for moving goods across the country.
Farmers in Canada are especially vulnerable to the effects of a rail strike, as they rely on rail transportation to deliver their products to markets both domestically and internationally. With the potential disruption in rail service, farmers could face delays in getting their products to market, resulting in lost revenue and potentially affecting prices for consumers.
The agriculture industry in Canada is a major contributor to the country’s economy, and any disruption in transportation could have a ripple effect on other sectors. Businesses that rely on the timely delivery of agricultural products, such as food processors and exporters, could also be impacted by a rail strike, leading to potential job losses and decreased economic growth.
In addition to the economic impact, a rail strike could also have environmental consequences. With less efficient transportation options available, such as trucking, there could be an increase in emissions and traffic congestion, further adding to the overall cost of the strike.
Overall, a potential rail strike in Canada could have far-reaching effects on the economy, particularly on industries that rely heavily on rail transportation, such as agriculture. It is crucial for both sides to come to a resolution quickly to avoid any further disruptions and losses for businesses and consumers alike.

All those oil tank rail cars are warren buffets, he’s a Democrat Doner that’s why Biden shut down the keystone pipeline. CPKC and CN make huge money those companies will pay up they hate losing money

People should have the ability to drive trains with a reasonable wage that can afford a 90's-like middle class lifestyle with a decent work life balance. If that is too much to ask for, then shame on humanity for not making it the norm. The workers are unfortunately pressured to work harder, smarter, and faster with less people by the company which is at the mercy of shareholders that want more money for themselves, no matter the cost. The people should have the ability to prevent a modern gilded age.
It’s unacceptable that guys work without a contract. This could be negotiated in the last year of the old contract. There’s no reason that there is ever a strike. This is embarrassing on the employer side, they screw around and purposely cause the workers to work without a contract. As a farmer I’ve never put a bushel directly into the elevator…the harvested products go in a bin on your farm. The idea is totally ridiculous.
Its almost like the feds should have stayed out of the provincial resources
strike this and strike that. never ends
Power to the people.

200k a year with full benefits and pension is pretty much slave labour. Nobody feels sorry for you going on strike
shortages start to hit, public gets annoyed, back to work legislation(or the equiv in this case) demanded this is the order of things
Trudeau has everyone from coast to coast struggling to make ends meet. Taxation and insane government spending are destroying people’s lives on a daily basis.
Already seeing mass outtages and logistical nightmares in the home appliance industry. This is going to be real bad.. Canada is officially 2nd world making a play for third world. Lots of layoffs coming across all sectors. What a nightmare conducting business in this Liberal hellscape. Sad how far we have fallen. At least we still have pride month though. And our biggest export trans ideology doesn't require rail thank God.
The Liberals are shutting down Canada for their masters WEF UN NWO
