Vancouver is totally beyond repair , and is quickly becoming one of the most dangerous cities in the world. Our laws and our justice system obviously condones crime and violent behaviour on our streets . Unfortunately nothing is ever going to change . Things are only going to get much much worse. 💔😡
Get out of the city.
The revolving door of the Canadian justice system is a joke. Time to jail repeat offenders enough of this crap
Property crime in Vancouver is down, because people don’t bother with reporting it. The standard overworked police will typically tell you to contact your insurance company. I don’t blame them. The laws have no teeth at all, and criminal charges are more often than not a slap on the wrist, even after many reoffending acts.
Ever since they have decriminalized crime , crime , violence , random killings , etc….are on the rise !! …..go figure .
Our judges are criminals.
rare? dude there was triple stabbing like 3 weeks ago and a couple weeks before that we had the japanese chef stabbed to death. rare? how many is rare? we had like 6 stabbings in 3 months. what's rare? your benchmark is too low.
what if we all carry hockey sticks for self defense
if nothing went down we could still all play hockey at least you know
and i can't think of anything that would be more hashtag canadian for clicks
Its what happens when in canada you cant defend yourself against lunatics. Your just someones sacrafice in canada.
Last year (May 2023), my friend's daughter and granddaughter were brutally killed in the parking lot of a South Edmonton school by a man recently released on bail. He did not know the two victims. He was originally attempting to attack children in the school. However, the doors were locked as per safety protocol. The suspect, in his failure to accomplish his goal, attacked daughter and granddaughter instead. In this case, the police responded quite quickly and after finding the suspect just a few blocks away, they had no option but to fire their guns on the suspect as he was attempting to attack the police officers. Again, why are violent offenders being repeatedly released on bail? I was under the impression that Canada has recently worked on bail reform. This is obviously not correcting the situation. If mental illness plays a role in some of these violent acts, then why is mental illness treatment not a priority?
Law enforcement failed the community.
Thanks to the lax laws the current government have introduced.
Trudy's catch and release policies strike again…guy should never have been on the streets.
LIke HIs Excellency said : 'Vancouver is a safe city' no contest
In my opinion, you cannot just say that a place is safe based on crime statistics. There are unreported incidents of aggression and violence for sure. Denying instead of acknowledging that there is a problem won’t solve the problem. Almost all I know feel that Downtown Van is no longer safe. I believe that the rampant drug use is to blame. A person who is high on drugs can’t think rationally. So for me, the solution is to not allow drugs once and for all. I think Canada can learn so much from Asian countries like Korea, Japan or Singapore in terms of what safety really is. Just my opinion.
60 second chances is why I carry.
Remember to Vote next year at the Federal election. Trudeau Liberals enacted this catch and release program that puts violent offenders back on the streets.
What is wrong with people?! I can tell you, sin is the problem. Sickening
I trust this is an incited violence 100% .. the suspect was likely incited to commit this crime .. he is now alive so the narration of this crime can be altered.. it is too soon to mark its details.
Inciting violence involve agencies like CSIS or allied counterparts ..these crimes are likely to be incited by far rights or ultra conservative hawks (which trends that can represented by politicians like Trump, Netanyahu or MBS.. or similar ones etc).
When Adam Palmer said it was not "provoked" attack .. he did not specify by "provoked by who" .. in inciting violence crimes it is not the victim who provoke the suspect .. Rather, the context of this crime in have a previous offender on probation (which is public safety surveillance) is a context for provoking the suspect by agencies .. whether incitation was to develop an outrageous response of the suspects (or promises like rolling him out in military or spy agency) .. the outcome is the same that such authorized intervention is the direct cause of inciting such crime. The fact he contacted VPD several time is an indicator of such authorized intervention with the suspect.
The Canadian laws allow law enforcement to receive intelligence records (it is listed in one act of the Canadian Intelligence and Security Service Act) .. it is just law enforcement like VPD is "selective" in what detail it to look and what to ignore.
All local police will have the same limitation in being limited in what level of their investigation can reach out .. otherwise any officer or head of dept can be easily removed or replaced or set on long term leave.
The practice itself of inciting violence will likely cast implications on law enforcement or public safety department on how to roll out the narration publicly .. or even more involvement.
Inciting violence as in all terrorists or public causality attacks ..
likely to take place against seniors (as in this crime in Vancouver) children or homeless population .. or victim profile who are less economically productive (or sometimes deemed as problematic as in homeless)
the event itself can be leveraged for authorized motives ..
Like Nova Scotia mass shooting resulted in regulations during covid-19 .. the government that invoked the emergency act in 2022 for the first time was in need for such gun regulations.
the logic of these terrorist attack whenever there authorized party look for "excuses" either to practice or defend themselves in regard to power abuse issues (e.g over violating civil rights) such crimes create such excuses in a perfect timing that can be referenced formally in court.
The timing may not be recognized by the public .. as to say why this crime took place at this date (except if someone is aware of critical detail of authorized motive the timing of such crime can serve).
Also, Inciting violence can incite similarities and contribute to racial profiling in Canada or US.. for example if a person of colour is suing the government over a righteous issue.. then inciting violence by a person with a similar profile (like a similar person of color) can serve defending the position of government – public safety department .. similarly inciting violence can take place over different profiles ..
It is likely to incited suspect to be immigrant or a person claim to be psychologically or mentally ill .. as profiles are reasons can withhold bread butter of public safety agencies …
Anyway let's see the detail of this crime. I thought this issue of inciting violence became of the past .. it seems it still need prosecution, cleaning and charges..
From my view, VPD is among the most corrupt police departments ever … IMO its police chief Adam Palmer should be terminated immediately and investigated in person or charged in deed.
100% drug related
