Workers at Boeing’s US West Coast factory have gone on strike after rejecting a contract deal offered by the company. The walkout began early on Friday as employees voiced their dissatisfaction with the terms of the proposed agreement.
Boeing, one of the world’s leading planemakers, has faced increasing pressure from its workforce in recent months. The company has been criticized for its treatment of workers and for its handling of contract negotiations. The rejection of the contract deal highlights the growing frustration among Boeing employees.
Union representatives have stated that the proposed contract did not meet the needs of the workers and that it failed to address key issues such as job security and wages. The strike is seen as a pushback against the perceived disregard for workers’ rights by the company.
The walkout is expected to have a significant impact on Boeing’s operations and could potentially disrupt the production of aircraft at the factory. The company has yet to respond to the strike, but it is clear that tensions between Boeing and its workers are escalating.
As the strike continues, it remains to be seen how Boeing will address the concerns of its employees and work towards resolving the ongoing labor dispute. For now, the workers remain united in their fight for fair treatment and better working conditions.

Go Workers🎉Chiponda Chimbelu excellent reporting sir.👍
The workers are neglected by the top management. They have the right to proper pay. Stay strong 💪🏻
Boeing might as well shut down.Their planes aren't going anywhere either🙄
If they're angry at not being able to afford this administrations inflation….imagine trying to survive as a senior disabled widow on social security 🙏🤎🇺🇲
If the CEO is getting paid 45 million USD a month then surely they have enough to pay their workers.
Delay in production meant less danger in the air! Go Workers strike out till end of the year!!!
Boeing CEO Dave Calhoun received $32.8 million in 2023. The estimated average pay for Factory Worker at this company in the United States is $23.82 per hour. This is average, meaning there are lots of workers getting less than this while the CEO is getting almost 33 million. This is how injustice and discriminatory is the west.
The Global South which is more than 90% of the world population is watching closely and waiting eagerly China to replace western make airplanes as it did with cars and other products. There is no doubt Boeing will be nothing with 10 years but only in North America and Europe.
We will be happy if Boeing stop to exist.
I’ll correct the DW business analyst. It’s not a Dreamliner. It’s a 777. The Dreamliner is made at their non union factory in South Carolina.
