Is the music something the country your visiting would play?
01:15 It's amazing how streets in that region are paved with cobblestone.
I must take a lot of time to pave them like that.
Loving the scenery. history, and music. Thank you.
Make sure you go shopping at Kaufland
visit the "Hostel"
The buildings look well built and maintained. Impressive
Hi Gabriel, it was a beautiful day exploring the Tatra Mountains. It would take days to thoroughly explore this area. It's such a contrast from summer to winter, it reminded when you went to Calgary that winter wonderland to this a pleasant summer greenery very relaxing.
During this video something clicked in mind…It’s his ,”the stick to it “ initiative (Sp) will edit but no problem now. Thanks Gabriel .
The building on the other side of the glacier lake Strbske Pleso is an artificial build slope foe the ski jump. It has been build for the winter games in the seventies ( my godfather participated on the design)
Please, stop taking a video of photos on your hotel room wall, and please stop reading, and showing us, a video of the history of different places you visit, so so boring, nobody would remember any of this.
The word "tarn" is a well used term if you are a mountain hiker or backpacker. A tarn is simply a very small body of water, too small to be called a lake but often hold water all summer. Some people call these tarns, lakelets.
That’s the way to go….. 👍
What I love about your videos is that you always give the date, and I wish more you tubers would do it. Another great vlog Gabriel 🥰
Nice trip and thank you 💐 💐
Another awesome video Gabriel. Especially in these troubled times.
Great ability to grasp the essence of a place. I spent in Poprad 3 weeks altogether and being Polish it is easier to communicate, but was unaware of so many things. I know that many Polish people travel to Strbskie Pleso to reach the summit of Rysy, the highest mountain in Poland, and the hike is far easier From the Slovak side. But other than that I have learn a lot From this video
600 t scbrs and you shows a path and map. How?
Very beautiful country!!! 😎💙✌
Strbske Pleso under the name Vysoke Tatry held the world championships in Nordic Skiing in 1970. Lars-Göran Åslund from Sweden won 15km.
epic
Gabe – when you are ready to go back to the beaches, you need to consider the Seychelles . Those islands and beaches are incredible
A tarn in Britain is a small lake, like in the Lake District and Scotland.
Nice tour of Poprad, very pretty and historic. Loved your trip to Strbske Pleso. Gorgeous hike around the lake, what a beautiful view of the Tatras. So tranquil. Loving Slovakia. Great video. Thanks! 🙏 ❤
I feel one can do the most beautiful erotic movies in, and around those shallow, small lakes.
In the times you mention (13th century) Slovakia was within the borders of the Kingdom of Hungary. The border between the Polish and Hungarian Kingdoms ran along the Poprad and Dunajec rivers. To this day, there is a border castle in Niedzica on the Polish side, which was Hungarian, and the ruins of a Polish border castle in Czorsztyn. The pledge you read about is a bank pledge on the mortgage of the cities that are currently Slovakian because the Polish king lent the Hungarian king a huge amount of silver. The Spiš pledge was an agreement concluded on November 8, 1412 in Zagreb between the Hungarian and German king Sigismund of Luxembourg and the Polish king Władysław Jagiełło. The pledge of Lubowla, Podoliniec and Nests and 13 other Spiš towns, separated from the so-called Province XXIV of the Spiš Saxon Towns, was a security for the repayment of a loan that Jagiełło had granted to Sigismund. The amount lent was 37,000 kopecks of Prague groschen, which was then about 7.5 tons of pure silver (over 8 tons of coins). This money came mainly from war compensation paid to Poland by the Teutonic Knights after the Toruń Peace of 1411. The loan was to be repaid in the same amount and in the same place where it was paid out – at the then Hungarian castle in Niedzica. The word patria means a viewing tower in the language and dialect of Polish and Slovak highlanders. I am a Polish highlander by origin, living in a part of the mountain range called Gorce, which borders the Pieniny mountain ranges, the Tatras, and the Beskid Wyspowy and Beskid Sądecki regions (W in Polish is read the same way as V in English) . 26:42 this facility looks like an abandoned ski jump. You have such facilities in the USA and the ski jumping world cup was held there, you even have a national ski jumping team where one of the jumpers is of Polish origin
Interesting that Poprad and Spišska Sobota merged into one city and therefore Poprad has two old towns, really. I admit that I saw Spišska Sobota for the first time in this video and it looks nice. As for the ski jumping hill in Štrbske Pleso (it was built for the purpose of the 1970 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, hence the name MS 1970), it had a FIS Ski World Cup competition from 1980-87 and also 1991. The Junior World Championships were held there in 1990, 2000 and 2009.
Thank you for this video! Beautifil Tatra Mountains, a beautiful country!
Breathtaking views, mountains, lakes and so many trees 😊
Hi Gabriel, I´ve been watching your videos for a while. It´s actually several years and now it´s exciting to watch something where I live. Certainly I recommend you to visit Slovak Paradice, Levoca, Spis castle and actually spis region as a whole is something spectacular where is a lot of cultural heritage to see.
Hi Gabriel, you could also give Nitra a visit, it is probably the most historic city in Slovakia!

The Nordic Skiing World Championships were held at Šrbské Pleso in 1970. 28:00 The structure that fascinates you is the upper part of the ski jumping hill.
I visited Slovakia back in 1990, still have very fond memories of that trip. Nice video, really like your Eastern European travel content.
Another great blog Gabe.
A Tarn is a small lake formed in a bowl shaped hollow. We have them in the UK, namely in the Lake District. Comes from the old Norse word meaning pool
Crazy looking building is ski jump tower 🙂
