Blue Lake Resort Devastated by BC Wildfires: A Community in Shock
In a scene that captures the devastating impact of wildfires sweeping through British Columbia, Blue Lake Resort stands as a stark reminder of nature’s ferocity. Once a vibrant hub for families and outdoor enthusiasts, the resort has been reduced to rubble, as flames engulfed the property and left it in ruins. A recent interview with the resort’s owner and operations manager reveals the profound sense of loss felt not only by the staff but also by the myriad guests who cherished their visits.
“All summer bookings have been cancelled,” said the manager, visibly shaken as he surveyed the damage. The landscape, which once buzzed with laughter and adventure, is now littered with fallen trees and debris, turning the picturesque setting into a bleak reminder of the wildfire’s reach. The owners, who dedicated years to building Blue Lake into a beloved destination, face the grim reality of starting from scratch.
The ongoing battle against the fire across Fraser Canyon continues to unfold, as crews work tirelessly to contain the multiple blazes threatening to spread further. The urgency of their efforts is palpable; each moment counts in preventing further loss and ensuring the safety of the surrounding communities. For the residents and business owners affected, every flicker of hope is intertwined with fear and uncertainty about the future.
As the smoke clears, the focus will shift towards recovery and rebuilding, but for now, the grim aftermath of the wildfires is a sobering reminder of the wild and unpredictable nature of the environment. Blue Lake Resort’s story is not just about loss; it embodies resilience and the spirit of a community determined to rise again from the ashes.

Oh no. Much love from the North Shore of Conception Bay, Newfoundland. Such a devastating loss.😢
Good for this commentator not to blame others for the fire burning down his resort. It must be heartbreaking for him, but he’s not accepting criticism of the firefighters trying to stop the fire. Again, good for him.
100% true. Absolutely!
Metals incinerated at much higher temps than any wood based fire. None of the surrounding trees or foliage burned. People can't put 2 and 2 together. SMH, dude it was dew'd.
Blue Lake is one of my favorite lakes.
Thanks to the firefighters and community. ❤
This guy knows the truth and hazards of the firefighting. He's ready to tackle the problems ahead, and a good man.
I worked a summer at the resort. Shane picked me up in Harrison where I was turning tricks for cheeseburgers and he helped me get back on my feet. Super nice family. I hope they rebuild.
I hope they had insurance!
Man, I feel for you people.
A real tragedy.
Psalm 127 KJV
Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.
It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.
Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
and insurance
the criticism is for choosing to live in a matchbox in the first place….dumb and dumber. But all buildings should be metal cladding and have air purification.
haarp, dews, arson, native land confiscation of non native property, mass immigration, smart city constructions … on and on. people can't recognize 5th gen warfare.
😢
I tried to go there one time but there was a tree across the road.

So terribly sorry for the losses that everyone involved is experiencing there. So sorry. 😞
The trees and brush look incredibly thick in the area with the hot dry weather a tinder box
May God Bless your optimism….All the best 🙏🏼
Nature. Nothing you can do.
Best wishes. 🙏
This is horrible…the people of this area have been through enough over the past few years !
Maybe this wouldn’t happen if the bush was cleared of deadfall and punky wood every year
IYK,YK Those who've experienced the nefarious side of the BCWS, they dont evacuate – they stay as witnesses.
I have stayed here a few times and once with my mother and had some amazing memories there 😢❤
BC Been Cooked
Its such a beautiful place! I'm so very sorry it all burnt down. Nothing like losing your home and everything in it. Sending loads of Prayers hoping you can rebuild. ❤🙏🏼🇨🇦
This is one of the greatest memories my son and his mother has, what a tragedy.
Mother Nature always wins. We have to show her respect.
❤❤❤❤All the love to the ones dealing with wildfires
Maybe Canada needs to stop sending money to Ukraine and spend that money on water bombers? We could never have too many water bombers and it’s ever single year we loose mass deviation to forest fires. Guess Brookfield isn’t invested in water bombers though.
How the hell are there trees standing all around the burnt down structure? Forest fire consumes everything doesn't it?? Something's not adding up again
So sad
Horrible/ so Sad/Sorry/
• “I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I hope you and your loved ones are safe.”
Human caused
So sad to hear your resort is a victim of wildfires.
Correction Global you clown's….the inept BC wildfire service and the criminals at the BC wide fire centres didn't put it out when it started as usual and just let them burn…time for all officer's and private contractors to be investigated and charged and jailed!!! Enough is enough here that global ??? Report on what really is going on and how for ten years the privatization or our once proud fire fighting machine is a complete and utter failure!!! Jail is coming BC wild fight no fires anywhere non service!! Global you suck!!
