In light of the recent tragic commercial airliner crashes that occurred within just a few days of each other, many people may be wondering if it is truly safe to fly. These devastating events have sparked concerns among travelers about the safety of air travel.

Best wishes for 2025! Stay safe!
Rick Steves has a book (Travel as a Political Act) that addresses the statistics of flying deaths and driving deaths precisely. It freaked me out how deadly cars can be, and he pointed out that the vast majority of lives that could be saved if we lowered the speed limits on highways from 75 to 55, yet none of us are in favor of that kind of life saving craziness.
Flying is absolutely the safest form of transport and commercial aircraft undergo rigorous safety protocols. Thanks for this video and I wish you a happy New Year.
Prayers you will always stay safe in your travels, Gabe. Happy New Year!
40,000 flights a day. Don't worry. Safer than driving.
Counterintuitive that planes are more safe than other forms of transport. So high so fast. And with other forms of transport you yourself are in control, so you can drive slow – but yeah being up thousands of feet in the air travelling fast, trusting your existence to a pilot you have never met – it’s scary. Crashes on all transport happen, but I feel some level of control driving myself or walking or cycling. But yeah man statistics say planes are safe enough, Rain Man – Tom Cruise telling Dustin Hoffman that it’s statistically the safest form of travel sticks in my brain. Are trains and ferries more dangerous? – I would really like analysis of figures – that needs some kinda University/Government study. Will I ever fly in a plane again – don’t know, I might just stay at home and never see the wider world 😢
Azerbaijan crash was an unintentional shot by russia as per Azerbaijan president. Korean crash was something different.
I think an important distinction to add to this Gabriel is the cause of the accidents. How many were a result of faulty building and components? We know from many witnesses that Boeing is not a responsible and trustworthy company. I personally do not want to fly on a Boeing airplane.
damn this place is expensive for mexico.
A bird strike won’t take out landing gear. There are 3 independent hydraulic systems on a 737 that they could have used to lower the gear, and an emergency backup cable system in the cockpit floor. For more on this incident, see blancolirio, The Pilot Blog and 14DayPilot. All three do a great job explaining the details.
People should know that airline crashes have been on the decline. It’s the lessons learned from these crashes that have help prevent new ones. Unfortunately they do still occur. Luckily airline manufacturers quickly to try and find the cause so they can address the issue. A single crash killing so many people at once has a lot to do with the social impact of crashes.
Every day is an unknown. One should live in faith and enjoy the now. With more planes flying and more cars on the road every year, of course, the risk is higher. However, fear of the unknown is no way to live a fulfilled life.
🎲🎲✌🙏
who cares. fly normal airlines and you are fine. Jeju air-is this a bus company or what?
Two Plane Crashes in a Week | Is it Safe to Fly? How many landed?
Yes air travel is safe…that being said it has been found that Boeing 737 aircrafts have some issues which Boeing is trying to address
I heard that one person out of every 13 million who fly commercially dies as a result, not bad odds.
As you probably know, one of the planes was shot down by the Russians. As long as you stay far away from the Russian border you'll be fine. You've been flying for decades so I'm sure that , by now, you must be aware that it's safer than driving.
Happy New Year from Hampi, India. Thank you for recommending it. Awesome place. I thought about the plane crashed, probably a lot safer than these sleeper busses. Like #700
Bring a parachute with you when you fly
Happy New Year!
What I've noticed is, often after a major plane crash there is another plane crash soon after. Completely unrelated, just a strange coincidence I've noticed over the years. People are afraid of flying (and I'm one of them) because of the altitude and also the feeling of complete helplessness as it's out of our control. Also, if you've ever had a very scary experience on a plane it can affect you. I know of someone who died in a car accident on the way to the airport, finally returning to his home country after years of living abroad. Very tragic story. I'd still avoid flying over war zones, just in case. It's not the first time a plane has been accidentally shot down by a missile. People that are religious are less afraid of flying and dying, in general. I was flying with a religious relative and her attitude was: it's fate, if we're meant to go now, there's nothing we can do to stop it.
Happy New Year Gabriel!
Happy New Year!
Puebla is one of our favorite cities in Mexico. -Marc
Thank you sir for the countless hours of entertainment, you really are one of a kind, in the best way possible. Happy New Year, and take care.
Happy New Years Gabe, and safe travels in 2025!
Happy New Year, Gabriel! Thank you for your interesting travel reports. Keep on travelling. The air transport is the safiest!
Happy New Year to you too Gabriel! May it be full of joy, peace. good health and staying safe! Love your wisdom, in your advice…take care dear friend!
It is Truly unfortunate that people have perished, I would recommend to stay out of displaying your political views (beginning of the video). I Do enjoy your videos!!!
Do you still have your favorite hotel blanket? I see a new one? Thank you again for your video, always enjoy watching and listening to what you have to say and your travels.
All three planes where boeing 737-800 👀
I have the experiences of round trips BKk-Jeju and BKK-Pusan by Jeju air. The trips are fine, no problem.
Happy new year Gabe.
You are 100% correct about Airline Travel and Safety. I think you can discount from safety stats the shooting down of commercial jets (got rest their souls) as this is totally abnormal as in MH17. But just think when Aircrafts begin to switch over the Electric .Some years away . This will almost completely remover the Fire ball (kerosine)hazard in crash landings ..etc .. Anyway Great Analysis for folks who may have a fear of flying.
Fly at your own risk!!!
Don't fly with Boeing.
Hi Gabe!
Happy New Year!!!
I think flight tickets should be more cheaper. They are hard to afford in peak seasons.
Maybe trains if you don’t like planes 😂🤣
anyway, heard Boeings are terrible, IDK.
HAPPY NEW YEAR & fun and joy and glory and traveling and pleasure and leisure and whatever you MAY. 🎉
Today's aircrafts are super safe and well designed. 1 was shot out of the sky and the 2nd landed safely only to fly into a dam wall. Waaaaa!
Happy New Year Gabe. Christmas has been hectic with family but I look forward to another year of you now. Still waiting for a bright Mexican pompom garland in the post?! X
Everybody dies, but most don't ever truly live. Happy new year man 🎉🤙
Can't imagine why this channel has less than a million subs!!!! Deserves more than a million for sure.
In israel since the independance in 1948 , 25000 people died in wars and
terror. But around 33000 died in car accidents and maybe another few thuosands in work accidents.
Still we have every year a rememberance day for war and terror
casualties not orher casualties.
The press talks only about wars and
terror. The road is the dangerous place
on earth!
If you go to the U.K. and cross the street remember to look to the wright
side of the street.
I also occasionally fly around the world. I would avoid the airlines or plane models in question for a while (including certain Boeing models), to give them time to fix their mistakes.
some one asked "how often to airplanes crash?"
i replied "usually once.."
