A Look Back at Arizona (1940)
Arizona, directed by Wesley Ruggles, is a classic Western film that encapsulates the relentless spirit of the American frontier in the 1860s. The film stars the formidable Jean Arthur as Phoebe Titus, a strong-willed woman determined to carve out a successful freight business in the burgeoning town of Tucson amidst the tumult of the Civil War.
The narrative unfolds as Phoebe confronts various challenges, including land grabbers and Confederate sympathizers, all while navigating the complexities of business and personal relationships. Her greatest obstacle, however, may just be a charming but roguish drifter, played by William Holden. As the two characters clash and chemistry simmers, Phoebe finds herself drawn to him despite her better instincts, adding a rich layer of romantic tension to the storyline.
Warren William adds to the ensemble, portraying an antagonist involved in Phoebe’s business struggles. The film expertly weaves together themes of ambition, love, and the harsh realities of frontier life, making it a compelling watch for Western aficionados.
Ruggles’ direction is both engaging and visually evocative, capturing the vast landscapes and gritty atmosphere of 19th-century Arizona. Arizona stands out not only for its narrative and performances but also for its nuanced depiction of a woman pursuing her dreams in a male-dominated world.

Good Movie ❤❤❤❤❤
Yeah, pretty much BS what with all the double ads ya can't click off.
At the first part you could skip the ads. But the last half ya couldn't.
Ruined the movie.
Tucson to Omaha is 1,336 miles. Twenty miles per day makes the trip over two months. Round trip is five months. The dicker and buying 500 head might take two weeks or more. So figure six months.
That's without being waylaid by weather or two legged animals. Moving 500 head won't average 20 miles/day day after day. I reckon I'd call it eight months to get back.
I reckon they should go to Texas or Oklahoma. Either way, they'll be cutting their own trail. Best of luck, they'll need it.
COMMERCIALS TOO LONG! WASTED MY TIME. Never watching your movies anymore. You coukd make plenty of money without being greedy. No longer watching this channel.

Tuscon hasn't changed much.
Good long well produced old saguaro cactus western no doubt filmed partly around old Tuscon now filled with tract houses and McDonalds and a cheap gas station, 6 lanes traffic running nearby.
That was a really lovely film in all respects nice acting and good vibes just like america should have been and still is rock on
