In response to escalating tensions in the Indo-Pacific region, the United States Army has been ramping up its training efforts to prepare for potential military conflicts with China. Recently, Business Insider’s chief video correspondent Graham Flanagan had the opportunity to embed with the Army’s 25th Infantry Division during a two-week training exercise in Hawaii. This exercise, known as JPMRC (Joint Pacific Multinational Readiness Center), involved over 5,000 participants, including members of foreign militaries like the Royal Thai Army and the New Zealand Defence Force.
During the training exercise, the Army’s 3rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, also known as the Bronco Brigade or Bluefor, faced off against an opposing force, Opfor, in a sprawling war-games exercise across the Hawaiian islands. Flanagan followed Bluefor’s Charlie Company as they prepared for battle with Opfor on the desolate Pohakuloa Training Area on the island of Hawaii. Leading the company was 1st Sgt. Stewart Fletcher, a seasoned combat veteran tasked with mentoring a new generation of soldiers who have yet to experience the realities of war.
The training exercise included simulated casualties, night attacks, drone reconnaissance, and even a battle over candy. Flanagan’s footage provides a glimpse into the intense and realistic training that soldiers undergo in preparation for potential conflicts with adversaries like China. The experience also sheds light on the dedication and leadership of individuals like 1st Sgt. Stewart Fletcher, who play a crucial role in shaping the future of the Army’s warfighters.

And they are using DJI which is a Chinese drone 😂
This almost makes me wish I went infantry
Love these videos. As an Army vet. They never show the police call or bullshit details there’s joes will do after training 😂
traiinig a war with china with thailand? oh my
"Ay watch who you are talking to!"😂 speak like a true 20 year old sergeant playing airsoft.
Brother you should go to the training area in Germany and watch the 173rd airborne train force on force. You’re like a Sebastian junger for training rotations. Americans need to see how hard their sons and daughters work to practice protecting them.
Airsoft fight
Us army needs to develop their own drones chinese dji is watching
Thailand just chilling in this exercise then went to train with Chinese the next day just in case so we can have a better picture of who would win. Make it easier to switch side and stuff, you know?
I’m sure the Chinese are watching and laughing😂
“maybe you shouldnt have signed the contract” real asf
Why the hell is the Army training for island-hopping in the SE Asia?
keep showing the world what you do US. It'll bite you later. Reap what you sow.
America thinks they're so tough by showing this to the public. LOL
300 million dollar exercise but we don't have money to not have disabled veterans on the poor list.. what a joke
can someone explain to me how they know they have been shot are there censors?
flexibility while fatigued – that is the only real goal they can have. Whatever happens will be different than what was planned for originally.
$1500 USD for one lasertag kit is WILD.
"Costing data for the army is complicated… For me to tell u how much it all costs, we can be here all day"
Fkin hilarious
I don't think $16 million dollar war games is going to do much against China. We spent 20 years in Vietnam, pissed away billions and tens of thousands of lives…for nothing. Afghanistan, another 20 years, trillions of dollars pissed away, lives pissed away…for nothing. Iraq, 20 years again, trillions pissed away, lives pissed away (including like 1 million Iraqi children)…all for nothing. We've pissed away billions more, our weapons, and ammunition supplies in useless wars in Ukraine and Israel. How exactly does the U.S. plan to go to war with China?
china just watching this taking notes lol
NƯỚC MỸ VĨ ĐẠI !!!
Damn they got Capt. Keyes irl?? @10:10
Sgt fletcher would get played by Ben Affleck in a movie, But the guy is living his own movie. Amazing insight into the JPMRC. Thanks for your reporting.
What I wonder is if this company has to respond anywhere has it trained in trench fighting aswell?
lmao setting themselves up for another failure in Asia.
This is basically a very realistic, organized, and expensive milsim event
What if war is not going to be as they train? War is never the same. Vietnam #2.
its called training not war games. its like saying football training is just football game
I’d love to see them practice with FPV’s for opfor
1000% it was more than $300 million. I can guarantee you there were devices and weapons created to make this exercise cost balloon too more than $300. Funny how they're using DJI drones made in China.
LOL Yankees thinking they can fight China. What a joke. They clearly forgot they got their asses handed to them in the Korean War by the Chinese – who were undergeared, with very limited rations, low tech small arms, very limited ammo, and hardly enough survival clothing.
A surprisingly high amount of real comments on this. I figured it'd have the Chinabots and Russiabots all in here.
lmao the training soliders are those idiots in airsoft who won’t call their hits.
18:02 That's a guy whose never swung a damn hammer. Also, why the hell doesn't our army have like laser tag type ID for when people are hit in training? Like how doesn't a trillion dollars include such things?
😂 “both of you are f%%king dead”
“Watch who you’re talking to!”
Hear we hear I turd who is trying to pull rank
Happy Halloween, guys
So about that night battle. Blue was properly set up with fall back positions covering the open terrain that you were trapped into by fencing. Even though it may seem like cover your upper body is almost entirely exposed to what would be an enormous volume of fire.
I’m tired of this propaganda. China is a rising economic power and the us wants to stop their growth because the can’t compete so they would risk nuclear destruction to do so.
I love our military 😮
The goat is back Solider #23
I hope they do a follow up segment with Fletcher particularly when it comes time for retirement
FUNNY THAT ALL THESE DRONES THEY RELY ON ARE MADE IN CHINA…..
no wonder DOD can never pass an audit…300m one person says, 15m another says LOL
Army veteran here
8:25: The Army also emphasizes to "Train as you Fight"
