For Freedoms Stages Art Installations Around Democratic National Convention in Chicago

Six artist billboards have been installed near this year’s Democratic National Convention in Chicago with the hope of increasing civic engagement ahead of the national election in November.

The billboard initiative is led by For Freedoms, an artist-run, nonpartisan organization founded in 2016.

The featured artists on the billboards are Carrie Mae Weems, Christine Wong Yap, Ebony G. Patterson, Koyoltzinlti Miranda-Rivadeneira, Slow and Steady Wins the Race, and Jake Troyli.

The six billboards will be on public view until the end of October, with the goal of maximizing visibility and engagement leading up to and during the DNC this week.
