Burning Away Racism: A TEDx Talk by Korbin Lyn Paul – Video

The video titled “The Sunburning of Racism” presented by Korbin Lyn Paul at TEDxBorrowdale delves into the personal journey of self-reflection and inner transformation in the face of racism. Korbin tells a story of his experiences in Nepal studying regenerative agriculture and later leading diverse farm teams in the United States, before being confronted with an accusation of racism. This experience led him on a quest to understand and address the root of racism within himself.

Korbin introduces the concept of internal family systems or parts work, which explores how certain parts of our psyche inherit racism as a legacy burden. By connecting with the essence of self, our inner leader, we can unburden these parts and transform them to embrace love, compassion, and belonging. Korbin encourages viewers to extend unconditional welcome to these parts, challenge prejudiced thoughts, and cultivate a more inclusive and empathetic inner world.

Through self-reflection and inner healing, Korbin believes that each individual’s transformation can ripple outwards to create a more harmonious and compassionate world. This video serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of confronting and addressing racism within ourselves to foster unity and understanding among humanity.
