Shaping a Healthier Society of Tomorrow: The Happiness Blueprint with Larissa Behrend at TEDxMornington – Video

In the TEDx talk titled “The Happiness Blueprint: Shaping a Healthier Society of Tomorrow” by Larissa Behrend, the speaker delves into the fascinating world of epigenetics and its impact on our lives. Behrend shares her personal journey of moving to Australia and discovering the deep-rooted desire for living abroad within her family. Through the lens of epigenetics, she explains how our genes are not set in stone but are influenced by our environment and experiences.

Behrend’s story takes a poignant turn as she recounts her beloved dog’s battle with cancer, leading her to explore alternative treatments and ultimately stumble upon the concept of epigenetics. She delves into the transgenerational aspect of epigenetics, revealing how our ancestors’ experiences impact not only our health but also that of future generations.

The talk serves as a call to action for individuals to take control of their own well-being by paying attention to their diet, thoughts, emotions, and environment. By understanding and harnessing the power of epigenetics, we can rewrite our story and shape a healthier society for generations to come.

Behrend’s powerful message resonates with the audience, urging them to consider the impact of their actions on their offspring and inspiring them to consciously influence a future society based on well-being and harmony.

“If you look deeply into the palm of your hand, you will see your parents and all generations of your ancestors. Each is present in your body. You are the continuation of each of these people.” What the great spiritual teacher Thich Nhat Hanh stated in 1990, science is now confirming: A part of our ancestors lives on in us. The field of Transgenerational Epigenetics found that the choices our parents and grandparents made – diet, lifestyle, emotions, thoughts, experiences – have impacted our physical and mental health today. Based on the intriguing science of Epigenetics which follows the baseline that our genes’ activity is controlled by signals from the environment, the transgenerational part of Epigenetics offers a big chance: If our health today is impacted by multiple generations before us, we ourselves influence the health of multiple generations after us. Transgenerational Epigenetics offers the chance to not only find out where all our character traits and beliefs really come from, but also take back control of our own well-being while laying the groundwork for a healthier and happier society. Having moved to Australia in 2022, Larissa followed her passions and founded the HeartWanderers Institute. As one of Australia’s youngest Epigenetics Health Revolutionists, she travels around Australia, teaching people how to regulate their own genes’ activity in order to stay or get healthy.
